I never imagined I would have such a terrible and frustrating experience with Orbitz, a site supposedly rated among the top 3 travel sites.
I planned my one month long trip to US in great detail by taking multiple destination quotes from their site and fixed up my budget accordingly. On the day when I was booking, it took me through the entire procedure, and at the very last after my card details were punched, it says 'Unable to process the booking. Pls try again or try some other option'. Now what does that mean? I tried this for two days with number of permutations and combinations, but it still dint work. I called the customer support, was kept on 37 min hold (international call) post which I had to explain every detail of my requirement to the executive for over 50 mins.. once again after giving card details, I got the same response from the person. This happended twice in 2 days (a total of 2.5 hrs lost on phone with people who know nothing more than I knew through the website).
After which I demanded to speak to a higher authority. I managed to get a manager on call, who after very long told me that the site is getting updated since few days so fares shown are wrong. Now tell me, a travel website with no right fares for many days in a row??????? how does that sound? *** to me... or rather crazy.. and the error doesnt even convey the problem....i cant believe that even if site is getting updated, why are the executives wasting time of customers, why are they not aware of anything. I am so pissed.. these guys have no clue what they are doing.. i lost so many days as I was relying on orbitz, and ultimately had to pay a much higher fare to another agent to get this done. The Orbitz team has done everything to harass me and I hope that no none else goes through this trauma. 30b07b5
