I decided to go to this online university in hopes of getting my bachelor's degree. The first semester went okay.
In the middle of the second semester, I was unable to log in to my courses. I called the school and was told that I would receive an email regarding the situation. I was dismissed from the university for something I was utterly clueless about! They made me dispute the situation!.
On top of everything, they are still telling me I have to pay the remaining balance on my account|. Paying for school means that you are putting your money towards a good education;. I was dismissed on no reasonable grounds (which they could not prove), and still required to pay the balance,. It makes no sense,.
I'm currently disputing the situation to smooth it out|.
I can only cross my fingers that the issue is resolved, because I'm not going to stand for a university with this much of a lack of respect for their students'.
Stay away from this university?.My experience was terrible. 38009f4

It gives accreditations a bad name. When the government money dries up so will NCU.

The School of Business and Technology is also accredited by ABCSP, acbsp.org.
Nationwide, 50% of doctoral learners who begin doctoral studies at ANY university NEVER graduate. This includes ALL universities.
So, there will be "disgruntled" students.
I am a tenure-track accounting faculty member at a private four-year college and Ph.D. learner at Northcentral. I would NEVER attend a university that did not hold accreditations like the aforementioned.
Since I enrolled in the Ph.D. program two years ago, I have more been offered more adjunct teaching positions than I can accept.
In addition to earning my CPA certificate, enrolling at Northcentral was one of the smartest career moves I have ever made.

I attended. Yup I own it, I was taking the short route--no real requirements. The admissions process was a nightmare, absolute incompetence, short of flying out there I had to remind somebody of each step and in fact called the President of the place--just a bunch of sales talk. The financial aid people were clueless--usually these diploma mills know where there bread is buttered, but these guys are after military numbers only.
The "professor" I had was in fact degreed. However he lost his license in Canada and moved to Australia, where he works for a non profit. The instructions were vague, contradictory, and the big thing is that NCU has its own style--in fact it does not use APA style, the classroom they have can not be adapted to APA, so rather than spend money of tweaking the classroom or upgrading, they improvise to the student's detriment.
So far they have one graduate. The guy is not licensed, practices hocus pocus psychology in CA, and that is the sum of it--yup I was a sucker! I took the exams, got the necessary credits, and now I am a graduate of a genuine APA accredited program, I can not begin to qualify nor quantify the difference.

The down side is that you'll still have to foot the bill for nearly all of the new doctoral program. You've just spent 30k to either wash out or get kicked out (like me). Now your going to have to spend another 30k to 50k at the next attempt for a doctorate.
NCU's self-published doctoral graduation rate was 15% in 2009. Since the NCU lawyers found a loophole, they state on their website that they no longer have to publish graduation rates. Lucky for us, they still publish the number of graduates. For 2010, the number of graduates was 150, down from 176 in 2009. NCU's accreditation agency (HLC) reported a lower number of doctoral graduates - 140. Factoring in a steady student enrollment, the graduation rate for 2010 just dropped to 12.7%. 11.9% if you trust the HLC numbers over NCU's self-reported. That's worse than the 16% rate for UOP and a 19% rate for UNISA over the same period.
11.9% chance of graduating, then using the newly minted doctoral degree to pay off the $30,000+ student loan.
88.1% dropout/dismissal rate, then still having to pay back that $30,000+.
HLC is becoming an accreditation joke for signing off on a poorly performing school like NCU. ... Show more

Anyone know of such an institution?

I have completed all course work for the PhD Business Administration with a GPA of 4.0. I cannot get a Dissertation Proposal approved by the OAR (revision 13).
There are over 1,000 PhD candidates in the same situtation.
NCU is a SCAM. NCU is a PONZI Scheme involving people (students).
