Mr Rooter - rip off

I needed a new sump pump in my basement.The plumber came to my house.

He was here about a half hour. Said that he could take out the old pump & put in a new one. The cost $766.00. I almost fell over.

But what was I supposed to do? I was stuck. The smell in the house from the pump not working was terrible!. So I said ok replace it".

He then said he had to go to the shop & get a pump and would be gone about an hour". He returned in about an hour;. Took out the old pump & put in the new one in about 20 minutes,. Then charged my credit card $766?.00 and left/.

I looked up the cost of the exact pump he installed online!. The highest price I found was $220.00. $546 for labor. OMG!

I was rip off & taken advantage of.

this same location ripped us off, too. i'm going to warn you that mr rooter corp doesn't care about you and most likely won't be able to help you. what they will tell you is that each mr rooter franchise is individually owned and there is nothing that they can do because it is up to the owner. i can tell ya that this franchise owner is not at all interested in making anything right. in fact, if he finds out who you are, he might have his lawyer slap you with a defamation lawsuit. that's what he did to another customer. be careful!
