Marlo Furniture has seen the last of my money!!!

In late March, in anticipation of a planned anniversry dinner in the coming month I my husband and I went into the Marlo Store in Laurel and purchased a sofa and leather chair to spruce up the living room.A week later, we went back and purchased the matching "chair and 1/2" to ensure there would be ample seating.

We paid cash for both purchases. The salesperson assured us the ordered item was in stock, and we were promised a delivery date of 4/14/07 (our anniversary) between 9 and 1.   Needless to say, one o'clock came and went (unlike the Marlo's delivery truck), and no one called to say a single thing.

I had to call Marlo's delivery dept. who told me that my delivery had been cancelled and listed in their computer as "undetermined".  I promptly called the store and left recording on at least 3 voice mailboxes.  No call back.

I called the sales floor and was lied to repeatedly by several different people about not having a manager on duty, he's on the sales floor, he's on his way in, he's working with a customer.  Finally, after refusing to take no for an answer, and being left on hold for over 20mins, I spoke with "Bruno" (the Mgr.) who finally adimtted that the piece was not in stock on the date purchased,  and they were "working with a new computer system that the salesman didn't know how to read"!. 

I asked Bruno, why no one had the courtesy to give me a call to notify me in two weeks so I could make other arrangements? Why all the lying? and most of all why no one up to that moment had even apologized for the crappy service and inconvenience they were causing me'.  Bruno promptly offered me a $75 gift card and a promise that my furniture would be delivered on Wednesday (04/18/07)/.

 Guess what? It's Wednesday at 7:00pm and I have not recvd my furniture, nor a phone call, nor a gift card/.  I've called Mr..

"Bruno" around 6, held for 15min before being disconnectd/.  Called back again, and this time got a promise he would call?.----Guess what?No call:.  Word to the wise......

don't do business with people who don't respect you, your time, your money, or your life.  From this point forward Marlo's can kiss my ***! 30a1b1a
