9. MagicJack is a Fraud
1. The 30 day free trial is next to impossible. They make sure their links don’t work.
2. Their 30 day free trial STARTS when you order, NOT when you activate, which is not what you are told if you ask them.
3. They lie, provide false information.
4. Their International calling rates are DOUBLE other VOIP competition.
5. They infect your computer with advertising, makes your computer impossible to use when starting up or when making a call.
6. They play “The Visa Game”, thats right, bill you for renewals after cancelling! Even if you change your card, thats right! My Visa card had lots of complaints and gave me lots of information.
YOU MUST send a letter to them cancelling any further right to bill your card.
7. You must return their jacks, a post office receipt is sufficient.
8. VISA will charge them back if they fail to refund within 30 days of a reasonable return shipping time.
9. Play the VISA game right back. Thats why you use a VISA to protect yourself.
10. They refuse to allow “adapters” or VOIP WiFi phones. That really ***.
11. Their entire organization appears based on FRAUD , it may be legal step by step but overall
it has the effect of failing to honor standard business practice to the point that
DAN is loosing credibility and soon MagicJack will be known as one of America’s most
Fraudulent organizations. I’ve had it with DAN, I wish I had never heard of these creeps.
12. They actually think consumers like me will take it up the rear end.
Sorry, I intend making a very large number of posts and contacting every single
news organization that gave them publicity. Those news organizations need to
pull their plugs and demand that Magicjack remove them.
MAgic Jack does not deserve any reccomendations by the press.
I recommend VOIPBUSTERS.com or one of the many other good businesses that provide
genuine value with out all the misleading deception and outright fraud.

The Return address for MAGIC JACK IS:
PO BOX 6846
West Palm Beach
Fl 33405
Magicjack billing dept phone is 561-594-2140 2f9d48d

I am sorry about people like me who just don't know how to go about doing things. I am very happy with my Magic Jack. I have four of them and they are worth every penny. In the beginning it was a bit rough trying to get ahold of someone, but now it is much better. So long as you have constant internet you don't have a problem. I find my Magic Jack useful in many ways. The only thing I don't like is the inability to forward calls without paying for each call and I don't like the fact that I can't seem to make three way calls. Other than that, at 29 dollars a year for my renewals, I pay that for my stand alone phone from charter for just one month. You can't beat the value. I think they rock. :) :)

This complaint is a pack of...sorry...LIES. I have dealt with MagicJack for years (since 2008) and NONE of the above is true. It works, it doesn't mess with my computer, and their return link works perfectly. And I ORDERED IT OVER A MONTH AGO. It's not a perfect product, but the company certainly is innocent of all these accusations.

I have cancelled with Majickjack right away and went with Voipo and a new number. When someone calls my old number majickjack answers and tells the caller to leave a message. I have emailed them and went on chat at least 8 times ending with them saying that rest assured they will handle it. Well guess what. I am interested in filing a class action suit if others will join the fight.

Approximately 18 months ago I purchased a MajicJack. At the end of the first year I paid for the next period, (1 year). 3 weeks ago I started having touble with the device. Eventually it got so that I had to hold the device at a certain angle in order to get it to function at all. I went online to MajicJack, (the only way at that time I knew of contacting them), and they agreed to replace the device if I paid the shipping, to which I agreed.

The new MajicJack was sent to me and I plugged it into my computer in order to reactivate it. However, the programme asked me for my e-mail address, which had changed since purchasing the device. This was on Thursday Jul 28th 2011. There was no way of correcting the e-mail problem, so I went online to their website. I was put on a 'chat' function. I described the problem to the the operator, who then passed me on to another operator, she then passed me onto an 'engineer'. This person said that they were sending me a code to my current e-mail address that would enable me to reactivate the device. They said they were sending it straight away. The conversation was then closed.

I waited all day, and the next, until Saturday. Again I went online to MJ; they apparently knew nothing of the previous conversation, even though they took a considerable time, 'checking the previous message'. I had to go through everything over again and after conversing with yet another person was told that there was nothing they could

In Feburary2010 I purchased a 5 year service with magicjack.. It was all good until I misplaced my magicjack in a move. I didn"t bother to replace it soon after because I had to other phone services after I moved. Then I noticed that my bank account was charged a $20.90 fee from Magicjack. I called the billing number and I was told I had been charged for another year because my service had run out. I explained I had a 5 year service plan that was paid in full. Bank statements in front of me. She refunded the charged amount but said my service would no lomger be in use until I paid for another year. They did not have anything to say about the 120.90 I paid one year ago for the 5 years. Then I was told by the billing number person that I would have to go to chat to try to get my account stratightened out. I was about to screem. They don"t care about how you are treated. I am on chat for almost 2 hours. The *** ask me for everything under the sun. I had all the imformation, but he was telling me I needed to get with my bank and get the TIME OF DAY the transaction was made. I could not give him the time. The woman at the bank almost laughted at me when I ask for help getting this. They are not a trusting company. A bunch of crooks. Stay away, if you don"t want grife. I will never see my money or the service.

scam ! It does work but after one year of service I tried to renew and all i get is a BS email stating that 'order is canceled do to high demand for magic jacks and they are only being sold to customers who have not purchased one before . ' Well I am not trying to purchase one just renew .
Customer service gives the same BS double talk no matter who you get on chat . They say my account is " under review " but refuse to say what that means and tell me they are having it investigated and will be back with me soon .

seems maybe you need to buy all them add on things they constantly offer if you want to ever renew .

Now i own a 50 dollar useless jack .

More complaints on more sites to come from me . Also filing consumer fraud complaint with FCC , attorney general and BBB

The MAGIC JACK simply does not work. The sound quality is horrible. The technicians on "live chat" refuse to process a refund and they "stall" their way through your free trial period by telling you to download patches to improve sound quality. I guess I should have known better - there is no telephone number or physical address on the website. Fradulent company, perhaps?

The only way to get a hold for this afwul operation called Magic Jack is chat via there web site to a person. Every= person on live chat is rude and incompetent. I hope you never need a replacement because they will make it as painful as possible. Its a horrible product and customer service it not there to help.
