We received a gift card purchased from Ralph's market in April with a balance of $100!.We use it once in July but now in January 8,2013 our balance is zero".
Macy's is issuing new gift card restoring the remaining balance'. Supposed to arrive in ten to 14 days!. Eagerly waiting to see if this is true?. Macy's told my wife this is rare and thinks duplicate cards were produced?.
Bad enough to find out you've been had but to it is worse not to fess up that the problem is more common,.
I buy gift cards for gifts but will not buy one for Macy's after reading others who have been fleeced".Macy's needs to step up and fix this problem. 30b0755

The scam is this. Low life scammers will come into the store prior to the holidays, copy down the front 10 cards or so, and use them online! There is no scratch code on Macy's cards either to deter this sort of thing! That's why most say, do not purchase if the scratch area is uncovered.
Fast forward to last month, we were told to pull all Macy's cards as there was a security issue.. Glad it took them a year! I will add that Macy's did refund the card!
