MAACO - 299.00 special false

  • by   Feb 24, 2011

Macco 24 2011, I went to today about the 299.00 special they are advertising on TV only to find out that is not the case. There are other charges.

There is a 149.00 prep. They said out the door it will be 542.00, did I mention they are only painting the upper half of my car. How does 299 and 149 come to 542? After reading all of these complaints I can see I am not the only one having on this.

Personally I think this is .i think this is a shame. 3155a03

Yea< I've heard good and bad about maaco. The most recent good thing? I talked to a guy I know the other day and happened to get on this very subject. Hes had several cars/trucks painted by this company with great results. The oldest maaco paint job he had done was 19 years ago and the paint is just now starting to peel up. I need my truck painted very soon....considering this place. This is key: The more DIY prep work=the cheaper the "out the door" cost.

I have had my BMW and my Volvo painted by stockton Macao and they did a nice job. They are selling a paint job not offering to restore your car. You folks should go to hardware store and price how much it would cost just for masking materials not to mention paint. Should the person applying the paint get some money too

They did a great job on a car I'm going to keep for a couple more years. I could have paid more, but I even got them to come down a little more AND they'll pass the discount to another car I intend to get painted. Very friendly too. No not the best paint job, but these are everyday cars too.

Ok people I don't want to hear about $1000.00, $2000.00 OR $8000.00 dollar paint jobs. Focus. No one is asking you to brag. We know $299.00 is the price a professional paint job will cost. That is what maaco is advertising. They should get sued for lying. I have gone in person only to be told they offer a few colors and not what you want. Yes they are liers. out the door they told me it would cost 1500.00 for painting a vw GTI.

A few times now I've called Maaco regarding their 'so called specials for $299.00. When I tell them what I need for my old-er car each time(basic paint job)it goes up to $650. Why do they advertise something that is NOT true? How can they get away with this legally? Not kool.

It depends on what you want for your car. A low cost $299.00 car painting does not include any body labor (if your car has dings or other damage.) The warranty is minimal (1 year only).
IF you wanted a more decent paint job, then you have to pay more. The $299 is usually used by people who want to make a quick sell on their car. IT is always what customer wants. I would not paint my car for $299, but different people have different requests and different needs. Maaco has a budget for everyone. They can do high quality jobs for more than $1,000 or they can do a quick paint for $299. Again, it comes down to a "Budget for everyone!!!"
And that is why Maaco is the lead in the car painting business.

I'm thinking of trying Maaco, I have a 13 year old car, I just want a fresh paint job and if it last 3 years I'm fine with that. I don't need a lifetime warranty paint job, so 249.00 is right up my alley.

I have had 2 cars painted in the Palma location and I was ok with the job they did for the price is worth. But ther customer service is horrible I have gone ther twise sence I painted my cars and I had to wait in the lobby for at list 20 minutes and I dont e ven get a hello or I ll be with you in a minut . it gets me so mad that even if their price is chip I won't Go to this location course of ther. Costumer service I will rather pay more money but feel welcome and not deal like I'm asking someone for a favor

If you're dumb enough to pay 8 grand for a freaking paint job for your daily driver car when that $$ could go toward a really nice down payment on a brand new car, you deserve to get ripped off. That said, I do believe a really professional paint job will cost upward of $1000 (but nowhere near 8 grand unless its strictly show car.) Maaco is what they are, a cheaper alternative to the $1000+ paint job but not as cheap as Econo or Earl Scheib. If you have a 69 bug like I do that's not worth more than a couple thousand but needs repainting, its a great alternative.

All I can say is that you always get what you pay for. I happen to like MAACO. I've had two cars painted by them but I brought them the cars in either primed or stripped down to bare metal condition. One was a 71 Alfa Romeo Spider and the other a 75 VW Westfalia camper. In both cases I bought the better paint job and also had them finish up some minor body work. They did a fantastic job on both cars. I paid about $2500 for each paint job.

It will cost you around $8,000 to properly paint a car from a professional automotive painter. Remove all the lights, windows. primer the entire car and sand it down twice. Add 6 coats of color wet sand in between, 3 to 4 coats of clear then wait two weeks for 8 hours of buffing and polishing before re-assembly.They should paint the inside of the fender wells, trunk, hood, door jams as well.

I have had a commercial truck painted For
$900.00 and a VW bug spot painted for $ 200.00 on 3 sides to match. I had quality work done in 2 days from small shop. These guys can can do a decent full body paint for at least $325.00 out the door on most vehicles, if they wanted to. They have such a advantage on product cost and pricing over most, that allows them to really pass the savings toward the customer. They really make there big profits on the extra so called labor ( up selling ) those who are very easy to persuade or lack the important information, are the target customers. Also most people are uniformed or lack the knowledge that everyone will negotiate a better price so you will spend that money at their business.

People are so entitled today that they want everything for free. Maaco is very clear in their advertising. Dents, rust, stripping will incur extra fees. Why don't you idiots complaint to your manufacturers who only give a 3 year warranty on their base coat clear coat paint jobs. Maaco gives lifetime warranty on their collision work. So if you do the numbers you will see your manufacturers put out the ***. Maaco will always be the better value for the dollar thats why Maaco paints over 500,000 cars per year. More than anybody.
