JOANN Fabric - Bait and switch
4 comments
Joann fabrics advertised a dress form ( retail value $259) would be on sale for $99. When I arrived at the store before noon I was told that BOTH of their forms had already been sold.
Two dress forms for a huge superstore! In checking on line I discovered that the regular price of the dress form at other stores was very close to the sale price at Joann's. in fact it was lower at one store. I finally bought the dress form for $109 including shipping from amazon!
We all know that they mark up their products greatly so they can discount them. Never pay full inflated price at Joann!

If they are going to advertise something they should have more than two items per store or they should say that in the advertisment.
You should try working retail sometime. It might give you a more realistic perspective.
This is not bait and switch. This is "sold-out".
Each Joann store only received a few of the advertised items, regardless of the size of the store. It is a corporate decision what is advertised and how many items are sent per store.
As a rule, doorbusters are always in limited supply, think Black Friday sales. Store managers and team members have no control over the numbers of items received, and it's just as frustrating for them to have to inform a customer all items have been sold.
Joann has a price matching policy, so anytime you find an item that is in stock at a lower price, show the advertisement and the lower price will be honored.
