I went in to file my taxes Jan 24 2013 after spending two long hours with a woman that had no idea how to use a computer told me the cost for me to get my taxes done was going to be $294 I told her I am not paying that for my taxed to be done.so she took it down to 225 and I said fine I just wanted to get out of there I didnt have a check on me to pay for them to get done so I had to have it taken off of my return which was another $35.

Then my mom filed hers online at H&Rblock at home and it only cost her $22. I called in and told them to cancel my file and they that they cant and they wont. So i asked them why it cost me so much and they had it was because I had a professional do them and the 225 dollars was going to her!!! So the supervisor said let me look up your file so she put me on hold and i was on hold for about 10 mins another lady picks up the phone I tell her whats going on and she says oh well she went to LUNCH!

WTF So another guy got on the phone told him was going on and told him that I wasnt going to pay that much. He had the to say would you go to work one day and tell your not you pay you?

That is why it cost so much because that is going to her pay check..Really H&R block I will never ever file at an H&R block office again when I can do it at home for $20.. 3132a83

I used H&R for years till my wife and I seperated. The yr we seperated I thought she had claimed my daughter and she thought I had so that being said neither of us had claimed her. The next yr we had reconciled and when we went to file we told the representive what had happened and he said "oh it wouldn't be worth the time to go back and take care of it you wouldn't get anything". So the following year we decided to go somewhere else and I explained to this gentleman what had happened and told him about what H&R had said and he said the guy prolly didn't have a clue what he was doig and didn't wanna take the time to find out that they just hired anybody to fill a chair when tax season kicked in. Well anyway he went back and took care of it for us and we got $1500 from 2 yrs prior plus we got a bigger refund than we ever had. It was at that point that I swore I'd never use H&R again.

I had an even worse experience with them in 2009. I use to use them all the time when I was married with three kids and it would cost me about $75. They even cut me a check on the spot. But in 2009 I went in with just myself, a simple return. When they were done it was over $400 that they took out of my refund. I was delighted at the amount I was getting back so I reluctantly signed. Later, I found out I could have filed on line with Turbotax and would have recieved the same amount and it would have only cost me about $20. I have used Turbotax on line since and will NEVER EVER use HR Block again! I also tell all my friends and everyone that asks not to use HR Block at all, on line or at the office just for the fact that they take advantage of people.

Your mom paid $22 cause she filled all the forms in. You paid $225 to have some one do the exact same thing for you. Thats the cost of being lazy. The on line your mom used and the office forms are the exact same site. And H$R hires any one off the street they aren't even tax experts half the time.

It's not that I was being lazy.. It is that this year I claimed my daughter and thought that it would be a little different.. So instead of insulting me realize that I was unsure of what would have to be done.. Me posting this complaint wasn't to get pity I don't want pity I wanted a place to "rant" I guess is what I want to call it.. So do me a favor a keep your insulting comments off of here.. thanks have a great day :)
