Looks like you've got plenty of angry HD consumers without me adding my 2ยข - and it would be hard to find a retailer that everyone is happy with.I'm just angry that they've gone from a very easy and convenient return policy to treating their long-time customers like criminals.

No receipt means no refund from now on. I'd need to hire a secretary to keep track of my HD receipts.

I'm sure they'll process fewer returns with this new policy, but with fewer customers (like me) it may have a negative effect on their bottom line.I'll give Lowes a try. 388799b

no reciept is needed for returns ever if you follow this one little bit of advice use the same credit card for every purchase. The returns cashier can swip this same credit card.for all your returns and the computer will find the digital reciept. If you loose your wallet or credit card on a regular basis I would suggest writing down this credit card.number and keeping it in a safe place. The returns cashier can manually enter the credit card number if you loose the card. Trying out Lowes will be a costly proposition because their prices are 5-15% higher than Home Depot.

Wake-up to reality. Due to the number of people that do take advantage of retail stores and their return policies more and more stores are requiring receipts. If you refuse to shop at stores that don't question returns without a receipt you will find it hard to find a place to shop. Good luck.

Very few retail places allow returns with out a receipt. Thieves like to steal items then try and return them for cash. Receipts also make it more easy on the place you are trying to return items to. It tells them exactly what the item is and when it was purchased. Many stores have 30/60/90 day limits on returns. This is your problem not Home Depots. Keep your receipts and STFU.
