I have enjoyed going to the different Hobby Lobbies near my local to buy supplies for my interests and hobbies, but recently I applied to four different stores for seasonal employment and have gotten the run around. I have spoken to the managers in each store and they keep saying that they haven't gone through their applications yet to please call back. I have been calling back for the past I applied at the Pearland, TX store 3 times and no response yet. I have also applied at the Missouri City, TX, Stafford, TX and the West Loop South store in Houston, TX. I have an Illustration degree, make jewelry, are a hard worker and very reliable!. Do not understand why I haven't been called|. I feel that they only want to hire young people and don't want to hire the older generation/. They don't give us a chance and don't realize that there are a lot of qualified hard working people out there:. I will stop shopping at any Hobby Lobby store and will go to Michael's from now on".
I also want to say that the customer service at most Hobby Lobbies are deplorable.. When you need help with an item'. You have to go and search for someone to help you and this is about 98% of the time:.
Sincerely,
Zebeth

1. I was an office manager, I helped pre-screen employees, we sometimes received over 100 applications in 1 week, a lot of times, we wanted someone who was available for the long run, NOT only seasonal (it sucks having to train tons of people a thousand times just for Oct-Jan).
2. You're attitude is VERY pushy (just saying)
3. The people they want for seasonal are able to work all shifts, and especially to cashier and stock, NOT run departments.
4. Not shopping somewhere just because you weren't hired is ***. In times like this where jobs are hard to come by, I've applied to tons of places before I landed the job I have now. I would have to not shop atsome of my favorite places because that's where I applied. I want to work where I love to shop.
5. The main problem with the "older generation" is the[lack of ability] to work at a fast pace, as dictated by customers who are mad when things are not speedy enough.
6. If you have such problems with the way customer service is there, why on earth would you want to work there?

Having worked there, everything she has stated is very true and then some. Most would be surprised or not how they treat their employees, considering they claim to be a Christain establishment.
The turnover over rate for this place is very high. They pick the young ones that come to work late, complain all the times instead of keeping older reliable workers.
