8 years ago I contracted MRSA of the spine after a hospital spinal surgery. The infection has recurred numerous times requiring many spinal fusions and I & D's.
over the past 8 years. I have been septic and near death on several occasions. In 2012, I was admitted to the hospital for 3 surgeries and once for extensive testing and pain control management. Upon each discharge, I was prescribed pain medicine by practitioners associated with the UCSF pain clinic.
Health Net saw all of this pain medicine prescribing and the different doctors and assumed it was inappropiate. They SECRETLY sent out letters to my providers stating that the pain medicine was too much and infering worse things, BUT they had no clue that I was hospitalized!. They denied sending these secret letter for several months but finally had to acknowledge that it was their doing". They have refused to include me in their secret letter writing campaign; they have refused to get all of the facts; and in a callous, mean spirited manner that have seriously damaged the delivery of my health care by planting seeds of doubt and distrust amongst my various providers..
After much dialogue with my providers, I now view this as a probable strategy to limit my use of service due to my being a high user". Clearly, if they cared about the quality of my health care, they would investigate the true circumstances of my grave illness|. After I complained to Health Net they continued to send out these secret letters to my providers!. They will SECRETLY do this to all patients when they do not like your use patterns;.
This is not in the letter or the spirit of the HIPAA law,.Beware of Health Net secret policies and procedures! 30f0f2c

As a side note: have you tried marijuana for the pain?
