Find A Grave is an online service which helps you, obviously, to find a grave. The service was founded in 1995 by Jim Tipton as a response to his hobby of visiting famous people graves. He found out t...hat many people shared his interest and created this site. Since its creation more than 350,000 people contributed to the site adding new graves addresses. Find A Grave allows you to search for graves of famous and ordinary people filling in their name, birth and death date and place of burial. The company states that more than 50,000 people search their website every day. Some people add new graves; others share success stories telling how Find A Grave helped to find a particular grave. Mr. Jim Tipton, the founder of the Find A Grave site, and now Ancestry, com and their various sites and affiliate sites are making a lot of money with this FOR PROFIT website. Mr. Jim Tipton is using emotionally unbalanced people, who call themselves "gravers" to "volunteer" their time for the site additions and to report high demographic visits to prospective advertisers. He is laughing all the...
I live in rural Georgia on 60 acres of land. There is a pioneer cemetery with mostly unmarked graves on my land. About 10 other land owners in my area have a similar circumstance. I do not mind family members trying to find lost family. Some family members are even wanting to replace stones or clean up the area. The cemetery on my land is secluded. No trespassing signs are posted on my property....
I have repeatedly sent this mails to email@example.com and have never gotten a response. What was written by Frederic Randolf Ross, Pensacola, FL 32507 (http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=mr&MRid=47557508) is not a fitting Memorial for Elizabeth Tilson or anyone else. I have contacted Ross and he responded with only a bunch of gibberish. See:...
Best news I've heard in a long time. They are draining the swamp over there and it is hilarious! The Help Forum is now just that, a HELP forum. The forum thugs have been shut out now that that thread is moderated. People can ask questions without getting jumped, no more 300 hundred page threads about "Gimme Grabbers", "Ploppers", "Tree Builders" and the ever popular people "who don't want to...
What will happen to all of the work I completed and added to the findagrave site now that the owner has made millions by selling our work to ancestry.com? Boy all of that work and he just sold it. Guess we were taken for a ride. Will we still be able to manage our memorials that we created? I guess one good outcome will be that people that hurt the company like Diehard will no longer be able to...
The tin-pot dictators (admins) and their forum "pets" are at it again! Some of the self-imagined forum "royalty" were so offended by the word "hoarder" (I guess the truth hurts)that they whined and complained to the admins about it, and the admins, instead of telling them to deal with it, obligingly changed the program so that unless you put a space or some kind of symbol between each letter of...
I am a business woman. I don't have my own business, that dream never worked out for me. I spend a great deal of my time reading about successful companies, organizations, and individuals that have been successful in private business. Many of these individuals have their dreams come true. Their own business. How rewarding. Its not easy to do. I have read a great deal about Jim Tipton. He was a...
Do not register with this site. They will use your email and contact you with insults. They will know the location of your town and State. They will use your email to block you from the site. They will share you email with others. Do not create memorials: They will keep track of all of your memorials, edit your work, and can delete your work or transfer your memorials at any time. They can...
I dont really like it when I Google a family name and up pops a photo of their grave from the website "findagrave" The grave is not my relative. In fact my father whos grave photo "pops up" was an excellent lawyer and later judge. My father was a good man not a gravestone. I wish he were still alive because as a lawyer he would do something about a family member's photo of their grave taken from...
Somebody needs to take control of all of the duplicate memorials. I have found many duplicate memorials for my memorials. The problem it seems is that people do not know the real legal name of the person. "Jimmy" so and so is entered and the real name is "James". We need to go by the name that is on the grave. Mrs. So and So is not "Aunt Lou" Please check the legal name before you enter a...
