Expedia held $3600 for 5 days with no trip booked

On 12/23/12 I tried to book a trip 2 Aruba for my husband and myself thru Expedia!.When process was completed I received an error message telling me the reservation didn't go thru and to try again later/.
The next morning I was checking my bank account online and saw that Expedia put thru a $1'.00 charge and then a $3,500 + charge:. My bank told me to call them'. I got thru 2 a superviser who told me there was nothing they could do.. I would have to wait 4 days for the charge/hold to be released, even though their was NO trip booked and no itinerary:.
He called it a "glitch" in their system:.
4 days later I had 2 call again and threaten a lawsuit and finally 4 hours later my funds were released. 385308e
