My husband and I rented a home at 25259 Punta Madryn, Punta Gorda, FL 33983 from Ann with Eddy's Rentals.Found her ad on Craigslist.

The link showed and advertised a beautiful executive home inside and out. Signed a contract and sent a $500 deposit. Told her we were bringing our small 20lb dog and 9lb declawed cat. Pets were welcome no problem signed a contract.

One day before leaving Ohio for Florida she sends me an email that owner looked over our contract and saw we have 2 large dogs and she only allows small dogs so she was putting us in another house closer to the beach on and on. I immediately called and said you are looking at the wrong contract, I have a small dog and small cat. Then she backpeddles and says well the owner is no longer renting to people with pets. I said we have a contract and are leaving tomorrow.

I was in tears but she said don't cry the house I am putting you in is just as nice. Even bugged her until she gave me "what I thought was the owners number". Called and a middle eastern sounding man answered and said no pets and hung up on my husband. Says red carpet arrival and that there will be a meet and greet with her.

She wasn't there just key under the mat. House was nothing like the other one. Picture of the bedroom on the link she sent wasn't even the same bedroom. Pool was dirty, beds were practically on the floor, bedframes were completely cracked because they had no center support, TV's didn't work, no dryer in home so all the towels were damp and smelled like mildew.

Tried to call and text and couldn't reach her. Then a man knocks at the door and says she sent him. Same man that supposedly owned the home in Punta Gorda with the middle eastern accent. Both my husband and I immediately recognized his voice.

We told him we were not happy with the home and were leaving and going to a hotel. He said no, no stay tonight no charge we will find you a better home tomorrow. We were exhausted from the long trip so we stayed the night and luckily my husband found a beautiful home on Vacation Homes by Renter staying up half the night and searching the internet. Tried to put stop payment on deposit but she had already cashed which was not the agreement.

The next day we left and sent her a text that we were gone and weren't interested in another home with her to please return our deposit. We went back and forth with her on that and finally agreed to pay the 1 night which was $96 and she said ok. Just returned from vacation and she sent us $25. Charged us 2 nights at $150 ea = $300, $125 cleaning fee, $25 for each pet = $50 for a total of $475!.

The house was to be $675 per week at $150 per night that is $1050 per week'. She is a scammer/. I know that she would have charged us even if we had walked in and walked out because she is a thief!.
