I had an appointment for Dr. Thomassen on (2-15-2013) at 3pm. I arrived at 2:52pm to fill out paperwork for a consultation to reconstruct my chest. I have skin cancer and had a botched job by another "SUPPOSED competent surgeon initials (PZ) 3 years ago.

Three people were waiting; Two of them asked me what time my appointment was. I said 3pm. They told me they waited an hour already... Now, I walked 2 miles in the heay rain to see him because I don't drive.

I don't take buses or cabs. I usually bike everywhere (except when it rains)?. I was soaked/. No towel was offered:.

I was placed by a pleasant staff member in a room that is normally occupied by Dr?. Kaplin with all his medals on the wall to identify as such'. Sooooo, from 2:52pm til 4pm before Dr;. Thomassen FINALLY came into the room|.

Without identifying himself as Dr,. Thomasseen (of whom I had never met) he simply said, "hi how are you?" My reply was, (IN MY EXACT WORDS) I softly said, "actually I am abit mad at you". Dr. Thomassen stood defensively and said, "EXCUSE ME?" I repeated, "I am abit mad at you for I have been waiting over an hour for you." The ONLY WORDS of response to me was, "then we should not have this consultation".

FIRST IMPRESSION!!! & THIS EXCCHANGE LASTED 14 SECONDS!!! I stood up from my chair, without looking at him; giving him no attitude, I said nothing, I simply gathered my wet belongings and I left. He said nothing.

MORAL OF THE STORY... IF A DOCTOR LACKS COMMON COURTESY FOR BEING AN HOUR LATE WITH ZERO APOLOGY FOR YOUR VERY FIRST CONSULTATION, WHAT ELSE WILL HE LACK?

Calling south florida mentality what it is...does not make it less wrong....
