I attended DeVry University based on their deception that I would be able to test out of the majority of mathematics, science, and technical subjects.Once enrolled they informed me that they wanted to develop the tests "in-house" after teaching the course one semester and I would have to wait.

I decided to take mainly the peripheral humanities part-time while waiting for the technical course tests to become available. I was using the financial aid to support myself and my family in the meantime. In my last year they stopped my financial aid disbursements based on "computer problems!." I thought it was a joke but they are obviously morons/. After struggling for 6 months with no income, I finally had to drop a class due to financial and personal hardship..

Upon resolution of the "computer problems" I was denied financial aid because I had dropped the class,. Even though they were in arrears by 6 months and caused the whole problem, I ended up with nothing but a huge bill, an apartment eviction, and no degree'. I did, however, test out of over 40 credits in technology, mathematics and science:. Partly due to the fact that I had taught these courses previously at a post-secondary tech school but also because their courses are really dumbed-down versions of what real universities offer".

While I don't fault the instructors they have - the majority were fine educators - I DO fault the whole philosophy of offering a shoddy product at a premium price..
