I had a family emergency and needed to leave town indefinitely, not knowing how long i was going to be away from home I decided I needed to fill a prescription. The rx happened to be four days short of a "30 day waiting period." That I was not aware of and I'm still not convinced denying my px was legal, safe or store policy.

Regardless he denied a px when i had a legal right to one. When I offered to show him the remaining pills I had- he refused!. I was not aware of this law'. The pharmacist did not tell me about the law?.

Instead, he implied that if I didn't abuse my pxs I wouldn't be out four days early'.
For a man with gray hair and his years I thought the man could say no respectfully; however, he chose an immature path;. Instead of explaining that there are federal laws that prevented me for obtaining my px, he accused me of being a junkie and told me "it didnt bother him that if I took my business elsewhere.."
If that is CVS's official response than that's fine'.

But I believe the corporation and his district manager will disagree with the man".I'll update y'all, I'm not dropping this issue until its over. 3012785

I had to call BS on this one. You are mad because the pharmacist "implied" if you didn't abuse your drugs you wouldn't need it early. What do you mean by implied? Did he ask why don't you have any left? I don't know what you meant by implied. So you're going out of town, get your rx filled out of town. What's the big deal? I understand you are angry because the pharmacist "implied" And who does care if you take your business elsewhere. I'm sure he didn't say that at the beginning of the conversation. I'm sure it came after you showed your ***. Who cares if you have 4 pills left? You are taking a controlled medication, so why don't you educate yourself on it. Then you won't have to depend on others to tell you the law. As for who works harder than who is concerned, who cares. Do you want someone coming into your job wasting your time when you have a 100 other things to do? I didn't think so. Leave the man alone, he works for his money too. And now you're threatening to not use this site anymore unless they do something to your satisfaction. You sound mighty cocky to me like your opinion matters above everyone elses.

There is no "law" about refilling a controlled substance early. It is 100% up to the pharmacist (or if the rx is written in such a way that the dr. requests it to be filled on a certain day) The pharmacist just didn't want to fill it early. People leave town early all the time and have their script filled a few days early. But if you want to get butt hurt and call corporate, then go for it. Your complaint will be filed directly into the trash can with all the other "refusal to fill a controlled substance" complaints.

Sorry about your experience. Unfortunately we run into a lit of people who are abusong their medication which makes us suspicious of everyone. I try to maintain objectivity but it is difficult. Prescription medication is abused more than any other drug so we have a responsibility t o be diligent. Pharmacists can be sued whenabusers overdose so we havecto take these medications seriously.

If it was being billed to insurance, yet it is legal. If it was a controlled substance, yes it is legal, but your doctor can authorize an early refill. If it is a narcotic, not only is it legal, it is required by federal law.

The law is the law. I have a couple friends that are on pain medications and when they have to have it refilled a few days early because they are going out of town, they have to pay for it themselves instead of their insurance or medicare paying for it.

Law may be law. I was not informed of the law. As far insurance goes, I am covered and if I had to pay full out of pocket I would. The issue isn't money, it's customer service. I work full time and a lot harder than the rude the cvs pharm.
Even if I didn't, I don't treat customers like the are meaningless.

Ignorance of the law is not a defense. Ask any lawyer or judge. Customer service is fine in this instance. As for working harder than the pharmacist, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHA.

I think all who replied failed to read my post. I'm not upset or angry about the law. I was upset about being treated poorly. No one wants to called a junkie. Anyways I'm never using this site again, not unless it gets rid of its false users.

I agree with you...my husband went to fill his medicine today ..... Day 29 of a 30 day RX. He was told by a pharmacy tech that it was too early and to come back in 3 days! I think math is a problem here and also the exact treatment that you talked about ( being treated like an addict)
