I would like to make the public aware of my husbands Medicare Part D nightmare story. As I understand it from Siverscript/CVS Caremark his problem is not alone it seems this is a widespread on going issue for 2013.
My husband was enrolled in Silverscript part D basic plan in 2012, I switched him to the Silverscript choice plan for 2013. He received cards for both plans and their internal system is having a problem recognizing him. Choice plan has no deductible and basic has a deductible. When trying to fill any prescription at CVS retail level or mail order they are charging full price for the medications due to deductibles, when in fact his choice plan has no deductibles.
Since Sunday January 6, I have been calling to straighten this out. Each of the five times I have called I waited about 1 1/2 hours to speak to someone who proceeded to explain it's an internal system problem that is widespread and not only applicable to my husband. Who cares, he is not a well man and needs his medication. Each person I spoke to said a report went to the management team and the problem would be resolved in 24 hours. As of today I tried reaching the head of Caremark, Mark Crosby at their headquarter office. Of course I was given the run around and finally spoke to someone who assured me if I gave her my husbands information including my home phone number she was going to get me to their top manger at Siverscript caremark. She ask me to hold again until she reached them. My call started at 10:50 AM and after holding for 15 minutes I was disconnected, I think accidentally . They had my phone number, it is now 12.52 pm no one has called back!.
My husband is being held hostage for a deductible he is not suppose to pay and cannot get his much needed prescriptions/. We have ask for a temporary supply until they straighten this out, we were told they could not do this'.
I think I have been more than patient, I refused to waste my time and energy with calls that do no good;. Think of all the seniors who don't have the ability to deal with this aggravation:. Since medicare does not allow you to change part d plans once enrolled there seems to be no answer to this problem other than to go public?.
I and all the other seniors who are experiencing this problem would be most grateful for your help?.
Thank you/.
