My family switched our to CenturyLink a good while ago, and I am not pleased.It is not dial-up, but every time the phone rings, I get disconnected temporarily from the internet.

This is extremely frustrating in circumstances like online play on my PS3. I get disconnected from the game almost every time someone calls our house phone. Not only that, but any kind of update that should take about 15 minutes takes up to 3 hours for me. The speed on my computer is decent for loading webpages and such, but anytime i wish to stream (such as watch a YouTube video), the speed is less that satisfactory.

of us have told us that it is perhaps an old modem, which would make sense considering that the modem says on it, the old name of the company.But if that is the problem, then I am still upset at them for giving me an old modem. 314bcb4

Duh, everytime the phone rings my DSL gets disconnected.. duh.. you idiots all said the same thing and if you use those pretty little *** filters they give you to put on your phones in the house, YOU WOULDN'T GET DISCONNECTED... another bunch of dumb *** consumers who don't follow *** instructions and wonder why their *** doesn't work...

Centurylink sent me to collections and after 2 hours on the phone with them and many transfers they say I owe them nothing. guess what, the collection company called me again this morning. f you century link. i am sick of your horrible customer service and now these harrassing phone calls i get from collections. going back to comcast

I HATE Centurylink!!!!!!!! Sooo sooo much. I'm so tired of never having a connection, and being kicked offline whenever the phone rings. It never used to be like this. Up until about Jan our internet was fine. Not great, but fine. The extra cost of comcast is so worth it. I suggest that anyone having issues with centurylink shouldswitch to comcast. Great customer service and a fabulous product.

and I am happy to announce that this week, my family is ridding ourselves of CenturyLink, along with Dish (nothing wrong with Dish except its partnership with CenturyLink), and switching to Charter Internet, and just getting Netflix and Hulu Plus.
AND I CAN'T WAIT.
I definitely recommend the switch.

Century Link is honestly terrible. I can't say much about the customer service, but the internet connection is definitely NOT what I would call high speed. At BEST, I get 150 kb p/s with this. That's compared to about 1.1 MB per second with my old provider. It took me FOUR HOURS to download a game that, at worst, should've taken one. I don't recommend going with them, they pretend to be a better company than they are.

im currently still have century link and they are annoying. i dont have the same problem that you do with the phone a online gaming. Netflix, youtube all work good. but the gaming online sucks. every time someone calls i lag even on MW3 (thats pretty bad for a game like that with my experience with gaming and internet). i got the latest modem they offer. it works better than the old ones but not good enough to be satisfied. plus the comment above with the employee from century link, he/she is lying. there the worst internet company ever!! there kinda like *** con people who says its good but really is B.S. sometimes you gotta pay more to get more out of it.

After cancelling service that was paid in full at the time of cancellation century link continued to bill me. I called, I wrote and yet it continues. They sent me to collections and I wrote the collections company. So they sent me to another collection company.

This is harassment plain and simple.

Century Link is the WORST possible choice for phone, internet, or TV.

CenturyLink went door to door trying to steal customers from comcast server providers. I was shocked, specially when my family switched without even telling me. The salesman lied to my parents about what type of speed and good rep they have. Long story short, my parents have been regretting the switch since day 1 of having it. Good fight. It disconnects all the time, I dont even have a homephone so I dont know why. Discounted Me while i was in the middle of a 1 hour timed test online for school. I fail the test due to the internet provider.

I have had the same problems. I work from home and everytime the phone rings, my vpn connection is dropped.

Reboot your router, they say. Grr. I'm switching to Comcast.

I have to say that I also hate my centurylink internet everytime my phone rings my internet also goes down and I supposedly have High Speed hooked upped. Hands down I should've have never left comcast they are 1,000 percent better. FRUSTRATED

Hi Joey with CenturyLink, my name is Tim and I am a Computer Networking Professional with 30+ years under my belt.

I recently dropped my DSL service with CenturyLink after eight years because your company is throttling (rate limiting) the following Internet services:

* Hulu
* YouTube
* Amazon cloud services

The throttling was so bad that both Hulu and YouTube were un-watchable. Music purchased from Amazon could not be downloaded because a connection could not be maintained with their cloud, and videos/photos on web sites operated by the TV stations in my area that are also hosted on Amazon's cloud were also un-watchable/un-viewable for the same reasons.

After switching to Comcast the quality of my Internet connection went up 1000% and I have absolutely no problem connecting to the services above.

In addition, centurylink.com is BROKEN and has been for months. It does not retain login information long enough to even view my bill. Most of the links do not work, and there's no way to downgrade services. Even trying to upgrade service is a futile effort. When Quest was running things, none of the above was an issue. The service was descent and reliable. It all went to *** as soon as CenturyLink entered the picture.

The bottom line Joey is that CenturyLink really DOES suck and people need to know that. If I was you I'd look find a job with a different company because at this

THIS IS THE WORST COMPANY I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH! THEY ARE A MONOPOLY IN MY AREA!!! I CAN'T GET COVERAGE FROM ANYONE ELSE!!! THEY OVERCHARGE, MY INTERNET NEVER WORKS RIGHT and GOD FORBID YOU ASK FOR THEM TO SEND A TECH TO FIX IT, THEY WILL CHARGE YOU MORE!!! IT IS BEYOND BELIEF THAT A COMPANY LIKE THIS EXISTS! One time I waited almost a month to get my phone service back on. The other times they WILL not send a technician and if they say they are you will not get one for WEEKS! If you keep calling they have people that PRETEND they are managers and they will transfer you silly until you cant take it anymore! NEVER USE THEM IF YOU ARE A BUSINESS!!! THEY WILL COST YOU MONEY, TIME and ALL YOUR NERVES! WORST COMPANY AROUND PERIOD!
