CenturyLink - Century Link SUCKS!!!

I call and order the basic $17.00 per month service and the line backer for my life alert system.I am told I have to pay the previous tenants bill before they will even talk to me.

So I pay that and get the service ordered, I am then told it will be on by 5pm the following day. I try to explain to the guy on the phone that I don't even have a box run to my house. He says no problem, they will just flip a switch and it will work. Fine...

5pm the next day, no phone!. So I start calling, the 1st time I was yelled at and hung up on". 2nd time, I talked to a lady who said that they wouldn't be able to do anything for 3 days!. I explained that wouldn't work because I had life alert coming the next day to hook my service up per their guarantee that my phone would be on'.

Get hung up on again;. So I call back and talk to someone else who tells me basically to deal with it!. So I ask to speak to a supervisor and get told that I can talk to a supervisor all I want but they aren't going to tell me anything different'.

Guess what, STILL WAITING?.What a crock, I have never seen such horrible in my life, I will calling to cancel my service and they will be refunding the money I paid for a former tenant that lived here 3 months before I bought the home, or I will be calling a and anyone else who will listen... 311f130

Customer service are well practiced in how to waste time, when I got to someone in the Financial Dept., they claimed they credited my account with a misdirected payment but offered no written proof and nothing shows up on my account history to show credit. The internet service is poor I have yet to see the speed they claim is possible. Many people there are rude and/or condescending and their motto seems to be 'the customer is always wrong!' They wouldn't last a year if there were more choices of internet or phone service providers. Badly organized and too big or too arrogant to really give a ***!

I Went with then to save a few bucks big mistake. ave net speed 1.25mps internet locked up froze ect (new dell computer) 4 different service calls no resolve. then to beat all i got a 398$$ bill for connection and 1 month of internet and direct tv. i call and shut it off. it will be a cold day in *** b4 i give them 1 red cent

I HATE CENTURY LINK, IT HAS TO BE THE SHITTIEST INTERNET PROVIDER IN THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It always cuts out on me constantly, i can only get good internet at certain times, mostly during the night past midnight when no one is awake on the west coast. I had better internet connection in the middle of Afghanistan and i cant get even decent internet in Washington state. Its incredibly pathetic. Century link you F**K**G suck!!!!!!!!!!

My DSL worked reasonably well at or near the up to 7Mbps promised when Qwest was my provider. Then along came CenturyLink and took and after their $19.95 a month for 5 years promo started DSL speed started dropping. The speed is better in off hours when most people are normally sleeping and lousy during the hours most people are up and about. CenturyLink CS says it's my modem or phone lines in my home. I say BS, if that were true my DSL would be lousy even at night when most folks are in bed. They are overloading their servers during the busy hours and not adding more servers to maintain a reasonable DSL speed. Nothing better is available in my rural area that I can afford so I'm stuck getting ripped off and lied to by CenturyLink.

Century links suck they are horrible provider ever. They hung up on me or so they thought and started talking bad about me and a couple of other customers. I asked do want to add anything else to that then they hung up on me. So *** century link

The "customer service" rep who "helped" me in August when I upgraded to high speed internet assured me that everything else would stay the same. We have been bundled with DirectTV for several years and she managed to mess that up - I just got a past due notice from DirectTv. Centurylink refuses to take responsibility and I was told today that I had to deal with DirectTv to be rebundled.

i was baited with 49 a month, forever, for 200 channels and 10mbps. i was like wow! ill take it! then the bill for 178 shows up and they tell me, yea,whoever told you that was wrong. but we can make it 94 a month ok? i was like well, ok. was fin till i moved, they dont provide service to my new house, 5 minutes away. so then i get a "early termination" bill for 145 dollars. im like wtf?its not my fault they dont have service around the block. and i wasnt under the impression that i was contracted. but they wont waive the fee. im not paying it, and nobody should do business with century suck

I don't understand how one company can monopolize my entire area we have no other options and if we want internet we have to pay a outrages price for something we do not get. The FASTEST we get is 10MB 98% of the time I do not get over 3.

The sad thing is that my 4g from my phone used as a hot spot is faster then the *** we pay for. I am really REALLY REALLY glad that we get to move in a few months and wont be forced to pay a complete *** company because we have nothing else around

Well, the same old story with this crappy company. Wanted to upgrade the slow DSL. Was told it would be Tuesday. Ordered it last Friday, guess what, not done today. How hard is flipping a switch? Hard for these knuckleheads.

Ok so I used to have quest, who were crappy at best. I ended up canceling their service in august of 2010. I get a collection notice TODAY saying that I owe almost 200 dollars to centurylink. After talking with a semi nice guy about it he handed me over to this woman who by lack of a better word was satan wrapped hate and malice. She BERATED me making it seem as if I was lying when the guy I had first talked to even confirmed my side of the story. I ended up hanging up in utter DISGUST. We ended up calling the collection agency and they allowed us to pay 88 bucks. Yea. Overly annoyed because they charged us AFTER we canceled it. In other words, after I canceled it and paid the last payment someone in their office undid the cancel and caused us to owe them money. They said they tried contacting us but we have had the same address and phone numbers for almost 2 years. It took them TWO years to issue us a 200 dollar bill that we shouldnt ever have had to pay. And woman who I talked to- I hope you go to church because your so wicked I pitty your soul. To the guy who has to work for her- I am so sorry.

Earlier, our cable went out and my sister-in-law got so impatient she just switched to CenturyLink w/satellite TV without notice. I have no problems with satellite (though Whole-Home DVR is a joke, but that's another story). It's CenturyLink that is HORRIBLE. We have it at work and had more problems than I had with cable internet. Now having it at home, every week, for about a day and a half, the Internet is so SLOW, I can't even get onto Google's homepage. Don't get me started on some activation page that now shows up after numerous resets and restarts to the modem just to try to check the news. It seems unreliable when more than one person is using the Internet, or maybe there is throttling going on after some amount of use in a day. I don't know. What I do know, is without a reliable access to the Internet, I can't pay my bills, or even check the weather. What sucks most is not being able to utilize Netflix Streaming services, which I pay for. My dad even had a terrible time with CenturyLink, being told he could get 3Mbps, signing up for, but not even getting 1Mbps, b/c it turns out, some other tech said that his area can't get that speed. So, I warn, if you're going broadband, look at all available choices, and put this company at the bottom of that list.

Century link sucks so badly. They locked me into a year contract and the internet is so slow it takes me an hour to go on YouTube! I get two internet bars 10 feet from my motem. PLEASE FOR THE GOOD OF MANKIND DON'T

DSL speed depends on your distance from the station. My house is never getting better than 3 when I ordered (and was guaranteed) 10. This is as good as it gets unless they build a substation closer to my house! And don't even get me started on the dish companies they partner with. I am back to cable and loving it.

I have a new computer I just built for gaming. Half the time it doesn't get enough internet the other half it works for an hour with full internet. wtf??? even when i have no other componets on my net it will sometimes just not work for an hour or two. I called and talked them about how much I hate this. they said they hate me to. WTF you can't tell that to a customer. they should be shut down

I cannot wait until my contract is up. They continue to raise the rates on me and when I called not less than four times finally they take it back down to where it was supposed to be. But little do they tell me that the telephone that I'm supposed to have with the long distance does not have voicemail never mentioned it to me at all, just took it away, so now what's even the use of having a phone? And don't even get me started on DirecTV…!
