Ever since Qwest became Century Link my internet service has been terrible. It is slow and I am constantly repairing the connection.

I tried logging in to customer service, but that didn't work under my old Qwest account. So I tried to set up a new account, using the information on their billing statement. That didn't work either. So I tried to go on their "Live Chat" site to see what I need to do to log in.

Guess what? The chat site is down!

What gives with these guys? They should be paying ME to use their service! 3014e47

Well I don't have service at all suddenly....how convenient on Cyber Monday! All work from home is halted. Great. When it is up and running, can't stream a movie and be on a computer at the same time. One device at a time means teens texting on an iTouch hogs up our meager resource through Century Link. Really annoying. Service has definitely gone down since CL took over.

We've also been experiencing slower speeds and wireless problems not encountered previously since this change that are just getting worse, and are using their modem set up. We're down to one Mac laptop with the kids gone, so not a multiple user issue whatsoever. Found this forum when looking for problem solving commentary regarding the slow speeds.

As far as I'm concerned this company is a scam. I've called in many times to complain about my 5mb connection only giving me 1.5. They "reset" it and open a ticket to monitor it for 24 hours, but not one minute after I hang up it drops back to 1.5. I've also noticed the speed will actually improve as I'm working my way through the call prompts and indicate I'm having an issue with "internet". Very strange. Qwest was terrible, CL is worse. Hard to image in this day and age something over 1.5 can't be provided and supported. Take any other option you can if you have them.

Tucson customer... we had Qwest set up.. our own router with their DSL modem... Had no issues... switched to CL... their.. modem/router combo. Now my Macbook Pro hesitates before it loads pages for a few seconds and I have to refresh the pages every now and then...

Tucson customer here. Since CL took over qwest, we are not able to all be on internet at same time. Did not have this issue with 3mps Cable let alone 12mps fiber optic. A multitude of calls to tech support and they tell me it is because I have too many computers connected. BS!!! Did not have this issue before CL came in. It is CL controlling the speed because they have oversold their fiber optic.

Seriously for the love of God. CENTURY LINK is slower then the DIAL UP I had 12 years ago. AND I AM NOT KIDDING. I mean that my Internet is actually SLOWER then 12 years ago with dial up. That is NOT an exaggeration. This occurred when it went from QWEST to CENTURY LINK -- IT'S INCREDIBLY NOTICEABLE! Scary. Do you understand this CENTURY LINK? One day zipping around in a Prius -- Next day the Prius runs like a Go-Cart! That's what I'm talking about. More then often it takes ten minutes for my email to load. In what world in 2012 is this acceptable service? This is maddening. FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST DO YOU have any idea how that impacts the flow of a work day? What's going on with this? How does this break down. I want to know because as far as I can tell since you folks took over little charges have been appearing as well... And for what?

Horrible speed here in Boise. I have the max (40 mbps)and it takes me about 90 minutes to watch a 42 minute show on Hulu.

What the heck happened?

Same in Layton, Utah. It's absolutely miserable and I can't seem to get anything to load. Never mind actually using my Xbox Live account, cos that's been absolutely impossible. Won't load and the games lag like you wouldn't believe. :/

I know! We just got the service the other day and have had problems already. We just cannot start connected to the internet at all. We've been on the phone with costumer service all weekend. We continually have to reset our whole system almost every time we try to get on the internet. So frustrating!
