$250
I bought a 97 honda civic from Car Max because I wanted to make sure I didnt get a lemon.10 months later the ac compressor went out and I took it in because I had the extended guarantee.
After I left it they called me back to tell me that they guarantee wasnt going to cover the ac because when they were going to fix it they saw that the bumper was badly damaged due to me crashing the car. I informed them I had NOT crashed the car and that if the car was crashed it was because they had sold me a damaged car. Another thing that went bad was the seat belt and they told me that Honda covered the seatbelts for life so they sent the car to Braman Honda. They then called me back to tell me that the seat belt also wasnt covered because honda said something had been jammed into the seat belt buckle (if anyone can do that let me know).
They wanted to charge me $250 for the fix of the seat belt. I denied. I later had it fixed it and there was nothing jammed in the buckle. Either Honda or Carmax lied .
After I made a big stink and had to speak to the managers basically telling them it was their word against mine they ended up fixing the ac but denied the seatbelt altogether. My daughter also bought her car there and had a similar experience.
Don't pay extra on a carmax car.Avoid the hassle. 308e8e2
