Best Buy - Employee omitted information on purpose

My experience in west LA!.

I'm an absotule pc newbie in the hardware sense, so I was told to look for the tall gentleman supposedly "expert" in computers (workers said he was the best suited one to "help" me with pc hardware) I asked about motherboards and what I needed to buy with them in order to make it work, since it was my 1st time buying pc hardware I needed the most information I could get|.

He said I needed a power supply;. And that would be it?.
(I already had a PC, I thought everything in the old one would fit in the new one and the only difference would be the power supply, as he omitted the I would have to buy memory and a specific cooler to it'.)

Before leaving I asked, just to be certain, if I would need anything else, he said no'.
(now, if you're wondering why I had to be SURE I had everything with me is because I'm visiting from Brazil, so if I forget anything, which I did, I'd be a massive hassle to return/exchange/etc any products)

Im pissed for the fact that its like someone trying to build a car and you KNOW they'll be needing an engine, yet you remain silent?.

Mind you, I'm not an American, I saved my money for years so I could send it all in the USA and this is how people from Best buy, LA, CA treat me? By withholding information?

Next time in going to NY or some other state not DEFINITELY not LA'.

technically, a power supply IS all you need to make a motherboard work. How was this guy supposed to know you needed more things, you said yourself you thought everything would fit from the old one. next time do some research online about specific parts made for that mobo, and what is in your old pc. quit being a *** and stop feeling so entitled.

Seriously?! You want to build a computer and you don't know what you are doing and you are pissed because someone whom YOU thought was an "expert" gave you some bad advice? (although from what you wrote, the employees only stated that he was the most "suited" to help you). There's no way in heck that I'd walk into Checker Auto Parts, walk up to the desk, tell the guy behind the counter that I have the body of an unknown year and model sports car and expect him to tell me everything that I'd need to buy to get it up and running (especially since I wouldn't have a clue as to what I'd be doing).
