After my previous water heater failed after 31 years, I installed an A. O. Smith Promax gas water heater. The Promax started failing after 19 days. The pilot light went out. For the next seven months, the pilot continued to fail and I had to relight it. The pilot failed sometimes every few days, sometimes every day or sometimes four times a day....
