I go into America's Best contacts and eyeglass store in Delray Beach, Fl.The sales lady couldn't be more saleslady like - friendly, warm, hypnotic.
Let's me know right away that progressive lenses, no glare treatment, and transitional treatment will cost extra. Fine. How much extra I ask. About $240.00.
With the frames? I ask. Yes. with the eye exam thrown in "free".
There is nothing free in the business world. I know. I have been a businesswoman over 30 years. I smell a "hook" and baloney sandwich.
Pick out my two frames - have the exam plus the extra "field vision" for another $15.00. Sit down with sales lady who works up the cost of the customized lenses - Price? $542.00 dollars!! What happened to @240.00?
Ok. Lets do the regular transition treatment and the price is now $438.00! Ok. what if I take one pair?
That'll cost me $330.00 cause now I have to pay for the exam. Was I pissed. you bet. Forget the *** glasses, paid for the exam and walked out.
Oh, yeah, that was supposed to include sales tax. Really?
