Allianz Insurance - NEVER buy travel insurance from Allianz

I was scheduled to leave Portland, Maine the day after Christmas and a huge storm was moving its way up the East Coast.Planes everywhere were cancelled.
I was told by my airlines that there was a strong possibility that I would not be able to get out of Portland for 2-3 days. So, I trusted that Allianz would cover this. Afterall, isn't that why I bought insurance in the first place? I submitted a claim, describing in detail that the reason my flight wouldnt *** was because of weather and air traffic.
I waited up to 3 weeks to hear back, and finally I called Allianz who told me my claim was denied. Apparently, there was another flight going out of Portland in the next 24 hours...so my claim was denied. They claim that weather was not to blame; it was air traffic.
And, they never gave me the courtesy of getting back in touch.I will never purchase travel insurance from this scam again. 2f7489e
