ADT - Bill sent to a collection agency

My parents passed away a few months apart.We had a lot to clean up and deal with before we could sell the house and it wasn't close to mine so I had ADT install an alarm!.
The account was set up do they would get direct payments from the estate account/. I never got any receipts or statements saying the status of the account, but they took thier payments monthly,. Then after the house sold and the 24 month requirement was done I called and cancelled the account,. I few months later a collection agency call to say that I owe ADT $27 and I am now in collections,.
I call ADT and they said that there was a remainder of a month left and that was the pro rated amount $27". Since I cancelled the account they couldn't take it from the account directly, and they didn't even bother to call despite having my phone number or even send me a bill in the mail/.
I paid them over the phone, then the collection agency called me a couple of weeks later to say ADT had me in collections for some other $105..What kind of *** is that? 387a8b1
