Jasper Engines And Transmissions - Jasper Junk

They replaced at least 7 engines. They all went bad during the warranty period. They kept blaming my installer. I took the car to them and had them do the 8 th install so the could not use the blame installer excuse. When I went down to pick up the car I couldnt even get out of Dubois county, it was really screwed up then. I finally sold the car for junk. What good is their Warranty if your car is in the shop all the time. Do yourself a favor - dont go there. If you want to meet some real angry unhappy customers got sit in the Jasper Parking lot in Jasper indiana on a Sunday afternoon. you will see many an unhappy customer pulling or towing their vehicles in to be looked at by the Jasper Mechanics. I have been there and done that. It is not pretty but it says it all. Buying a rebuilt product from Jasper engine was one of the worst investments I have ever made in my life. The minute you call the warranty dept they are ready for you. Did your installer do this did he do that. It is really unfortunate that your installer put you in this situation.

Outback Steakhouse - Bad Steak-sick later

Updated by user May 14, 2013

the outback manager sent us 2 - $20 gift cards along with an apology

we returned and we both had Chicken on the Barbee prepared in the

old original recipe. (why would they change something so delicious)

Our dinner was great. Not sure I will ever order steak again...

Updated by user Apr 13, 2013

The outback mgr just called and he said he is very sorry and is sending us a $20 dollar refund. He wants us to come back and said to ask for him

when we arrive and he will make doubly sure we are happy.

so at the Indpls. Store They do care.

Original review Apr 13, 2013
The wife and I thought we would take advantage of the 4 course meal for $15 dollars. We both ordered the Outback special sirloin.

They should change the name to outback special gristle, because as always it had gristle. they were both tough. Luckily we both have good teeth. the steaks had absolutely no flavor at all.

The were just 2 basic pieces of meat. The soup, salad, potato, and desert were all good. The steak was totally awful. We had to go to a movie so we couldnt ask for another steak.

I think that outback throws the cheepest piece of meat at you that is how they can give you the 15 buck dinner. Oh - when we both got up the next morning we both had a diarrhea. I have been taking Imodium for at least 2 days after that meal. I emailed this all to the Mgr.

at that location but he has yet to respond. from now on it it Texas Roadhouse for me. They get the steak right every time.

Besides that Outback has changed there menu items dramatically. the Chicken on the barbee used to be so good it was to die for now it taste like a piece of pooo!

The reason they call the place Outback is because after you eat it comes shooting out your back(side).

Yes, the worst steak, heck, the worst meal I have EVER had tonight attempting to eat at outback. I ordered a $26 porterhouse steak.

It arrived in front of me to be over seasoned and tasteless meat, WAY over seasoned, and had almost a freezer burned taste (I don't think their steaks are frozen, but that is the best way I can describe it). I took three bites and told my wife, "I literally feel sick, this is terrible and if I made this at home I would throw it in the trash straight away!". She was shocked as, i am not very picky at all with my food. My wife and i eat out at least twice a week and This is the first time in 35 years I have ever flat out refused to eat a meal that was prepared for me.

After three bites, It was so spicy three bites upset my stomach and I literally felt like I was going to vomit for about twenty minutes. The wife also tried a small piece and said "no way i could eat that either" as she spit it out And proceeded to comment on how it made her mouth and throat burn. The manager apologized profusely and comped my meal as he should, but I paid for the other two (wife and daughter) and their meals, not steak, seemed O.K. I guess the moral is at this steakhouse you should not order the steak!

I did get to enjoy a nice Wendy's double with cheese on the way home after my stomach settled down. :).

*** poor when a $6.50 fast food burger beats a porterhouse! :roll

The outback mgr of the Indpls store contacted me and said they would send me a $20 dollar refund and in mail and I was told to

ask for him on my next visit to be sure we got good service and quality food - He thanked me for bringing this to his attention.

So that is good for something - Right?

At present we are not sure my diarrhea was caused by the food, it is possible I have a bit of an intestinal virus.

Things are better though. :)

Have eaten at Outback 4 x. 4 different stores.

Walked out each time after being served garbage for food. They are a disgusting chain .

Kept trying but they never made the grade. :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

CVS Pharmacy - CVS - SUCKS

went to the local CVS Pharmacy that I have traded with for years and there Junky check scanner refused my check even though it was good. Remember I had done business there for at least 25 years and never had a problem with my checks before. I left CVS angry and I went to Walgreen and the cashier just asked to see my I.D. and (no junky check scanner) and I wrote the check and was on my way. Guess where Im going from now on. If you own stock in CVS you better sell it, they are on there way out. They give zilch about the consumer. They are always out of meds too!

Honestly any more every bank offers a check card usually with a VISA or MasterCard logo. If they're real fancy you might get a chip on that card.

In this day and age who the *** writes checks at any retail establishment. Most of the places in this small little dusty town of mine have stopped taking checks.

I can only say I can't wait until everyone else does too. Check writers take too much time in line.

Guest

Wow, dont you folks have something better to do....... :eek

Guest

to the Unbiased observer. your comment is just ***.

"cvs hires a lower clientelle"???

how prejudice can a person be? apparently after reading your *** comment, i see.

Guest

I intially posted the complaint about the faulty CVS check scanner that rejected my good check and ruined my day. I want to apologize to all person/persons that responded to my intial posting.

I am truly sorry for any personal remarks that I have made in recent exchanges to all parties concerned. I honestly feel though that CVS should have had the capability to enter a customers name and then veiw my transaction history. That would've shown that I was and have been a loyal and honest customer that has been getting prescriptions filled there for the last 25 + years without every having a problem. Nothing like that exist and they lost a good customer because of it.

Again I do apologize for some of the unflattering remarks that I previosly made in other post. I shouldve taken the high road.

Guest

Which CVS was this at?

Guest

I dont want to get in the middle of something but I can say that Walgreen does seem to be more professional and user friendly. CVS seems to hire a lower type of clientelle.

Having said that we should not lower ourselves to name calling.

No matter how true it may seem it is really counterproductive. Walgreen is undoubtedly superior in all respects.

Guest

Omg Like I went to the CVS the other day and I wanted to buy some cough medicine and they made me show my ID and then they said that they couldnt sell it to me cause my Id was expired. Like I am suppose to be responsible and make sure my ID isnt expired to buy some cold medicine.

And if that wasnt bad enough when I handed in my script they wanted my name and address and phone number, I mean come on why do they need to know all of that just to fill my prescription. I mean geez they act like they are just doing their job, but I know they have something against me cause my script was for a medication to control my paranoia.

Is this supposed to be a joke?

"they act like they are just doing their job, but I know they have something against me cause my script was for a medication to control my paranoia."

That's the most paranoid-sounding thing I have ever read.

Also for items that require ID (like behind-the-counter cough medicine) it is illegal to accept an expired ID.

Guest

If you werent so *** you would have read several times where I put I DIDNT LOSE MY CHECKBOOK god, you really prove your ignorance. Go ahead and call everyone ignorant hillbillys if it makes yourself feel better.

Im not losing any sleep at night. The CVS you left is probably feeling alot better too not having to deal with a *** whinny little PMSing man. What exactly is a hillibilly?

Never seen it spelled that way. :cry

Guest

You are absolutely correct,

who would want to pay for the opinion of an ignorant hillbilly that can't keep track of her own checkbook, much less advise others how ot manage their lives.

Now suck on that one.

Jasper Engines And Transmissions - Jasper Engine does not deliver

Back in 2000 I bought a Jasper Engine and had it installed in my car. Immediately it began smoking and lost oil pressure.

Jasper's warranty dept. personnel wanted to blame my mechanic. I had to threaten to sue. They sent another engine.

It soon locked up. After about 4 more junk engines I gave up. Their 3yr-75,000 mile warranty isn't worth a *** if your car is in the shop all the time like mine was. I finally had to junk the car out.

The worst investment and experience I have ever had was buying a Jasper Engine.

I wont go there again.!!!!!

Had a Jasper put in my Blazer two years ago.Put on about 20,000. It is running like a top.

Guest

I have had my 2000 Marquis since new. In 257,000 is was trouble free- Timing chain went (could still drive it) and got word from my Mechanic.

Had this mechanic for 15 years and would trust him with my life. I suggested new motor. Got the motor (sounds great), but the trans started shifting badly. The mileage which had been 22mpg avergage fell to 13-18 mpg.

Added Jasper Trans. Runs well till warm then same thing. Mechanic has changed sensors, computer items, and put a 3rd trans in it. This is a night mare.

Car drives like a new Mercury until warm. Then power drops, and trans shifts erratically between 0 and 40 mph. I spent almost 10K on this nightmare and now spending tons of money on rental cars while the car goes in and out.

I suspect its the motor with some kind of defect causing an over heating issue (gage fine but light has comeon). I don't think I'd ever take another Jasper product - this has been to hard.

Guest

I run a jasper sbc in hot rod and you cant beat it. mid 10s all day long. sound like alot of people :cry 101 things to do wrong when you do the install, but its always easy to point the pinger ;)

Guest

About 10 years ago I replaced an 86 Chev 305 with a Jasper. Still runs with good torque.

I've put about 135k miles on it of rough, short driving around town. No oil leaks, no gasket leaks, just runs. Same carb. Have had many problems with aftermarket Chev parts like alternators, a/c, etc., but the Jasper just keeps on going.

I recently put a Jasper trans in my 1990 cad brougham. Runs well; restored the old up-hill power in a low power 307 Olds engine set up. Might do a Jasper engine for the cad soon; thinking it over.

Worst engine I ever had was in a Honda Civic back in the 70's Best I ever had was a VW 4 cyl back in the 80's, 46 mpg. Best regards to all.

Guest

I have installed around 6 jasper units in the last year and a half only one came back and jasper replaced it no charge just like any other maunfacturing facility bad units are produced sometimes it happens i understand peoples frustration but dont take it to far

Guest

I am waiting for my new 3.8L reman to be installed in my 2000 firebird and i am hoping that the motor i get will be the same hp (200)rating as the one it is replacing. 2001 & 2002 firebirds have a reduced hp rating of 160hp.

Very worried about this issue and can't find anything related on the Jasper web site....

Thinking maybe i should cancel the order and take it to the dealership so at least i know i won't have a problem... and it would only cost me an extra 200 to 300 hundred dollars more for oe.

Guest

In 2003 I purchased a Jasper transmission for my 1995 Powerstroke diesel. Mainly because of their reputation and the local rep at the time was a family friend.

At the time the warranty was 3yr 75 thou miles. At 19000 miles and 8 yrs old while towing a camper the trans died a quick death. I know the time limit was long gone but I thought Jasper would have at least met me half way. Nope!

They offered me 10 percent off and a full warranty.

Yeah, sure. Never again will I recommend a Jasper product.

Guest

I bought my jasper engine in 2007, and all I have ever had to do to it was change the oil and regular tune ups. I will go back and get another one if this one goes bad, so I have a lot of faith in the workmen ship of the people who make these engines

Guest

man, what a whiner.

Guest

Just found this page, was going to replace motor but checked with some of the BBB,S AND FOUND YOU CAN'T TRUST REBUILDERS, :?
