Hello, Although I will not state my name, I am an ex customer service representative for Baja Motorsports in which I was employed for 2 years before leaving the company due to "bad business". I can only begin to explain how cheap the parts are on the units, and that its just a matter of hours, if not days until they break or become inopperable. Atleast 85% of the parts we order are either on back order or are discontinued and we are literally told to lie and say they are in stock waiting to be shipped or will be arriving within that week, when none of that is true at all. I cant explain or stress to you enough of how horrible it was to go to work everyday having to lie to these customers just because Baja Motorsports is running a bad business. The concern for safety from baja motorsports is virtually Invincible simply because they just dont care. The warranty on these units are a "limited" 90 day warranty in which almost nothing is covered. Working for Baja motorsports was really the worst company I have ever worked for and i was amazed as to how many parts were poorly constructed that baja knew about and did nothing to fix it. My management litterally laughed at the people calling to get valid warranty coverage simply because they didbnt care about their consumers. Baja Motorsports is the biggest mistake anyone could possibly make, and is the worst investment at that as well, and I fell sorry for anyone thinking about purchasing anything from this company. My e-mail address is if you have any questions at all regarding a purchase or about this company, please feel free to contact me. I am only giving out my info because I was the one taking the calls for this company and know the frusterations a lot of you have. I also have direct lines to customer service that will cut the wait times for people ordering parts down to seconds. I feel as if I was the only representative who actaully cared about our customers and went the extra mile to get their orders shipped out immediatley. well this is all I have to say. Please e-mail me with your response. thank you! Comments (59) |

Written by Dummy, on 04-02-2010 13:29 I bought a Baja 150 scooter last August,by December the carb went out and would not stay running.Called Baja motor sports to find out if the engine was a GY-6 and they would not tell me.They just said we have a carb but it's out of stock!!! Called another Co and they cross referenced it and found the exact carb for $30.00 less!! Took two days to get to my house and will be rolling again in two day's!!! |
| 2. Written by Jeff, on 31-01-2010 22:32 I bought two Baja Motorsports 6.5hp mini bikes about 3 years ago. One of the bikes has a nock in the engine that I wasn't happy with...Baja sent me to a service center and replaced the engine with a brand new one. I have never had any trouble with the bikes beyond that. They have ran great, and have held up great. The customer service was very nice and they mailed me part catalogs and parts no problem. Don't understand the other folks having troubles with getting replacement parts. This stuff is coming straight from china..its all chinese based hardware..not too shabby though for the price point. Gotta keep that in mind. |
| 3. Written by Mad Duck, on 31-12-2009 17:02 I purchased a Baja Wilderness WD 90 quad for my son's birthday in October of 2008. Because we purchased it so late it the year, we really didn't get to run it after his birthday or over the winter. In the spring of 2009 I went in to get the title changed and license tabs, only to find out that the VIN had been assigned to another vehicle. I took the quad back to where I purchased it and they said that they would exchange it for another one. At the time I thought that offer was very generous. Little did I know that the replacement quad could barely pull itself around on flat pavement, let alone try and take it off road. I wasn't allowed to try the quad prior to purchase, nor would they allow me to start it up and drive it into the box of my truck. They got 4 guys out and had them push it on. I tried to adjust the throttle, the govenor, and change the oil, all to no avail. So I took it to the "approved" repair shop. It turns out the repair shop was just a hobby for someone that had a real job and was just repairing this junk on the side. A new clutch was ordered in April 2009 and I did not receive the quad back until December 2009. The bottom line, the piece of **** still does not work. I've tried to get them to take it back but they won't. I only paid $1,000 for it new, so to hire a lawyer to go after them is hardly worth it. That is probably what they are hoping for. If someone wants to go after these "theives", I would be more than willing to jump in. |
| 4. Written by D&K Services, on 28-12-2009 12:00 I am a certified service center in the Louisiana area Baton Rouge. I purchased two for my childern a 90 and a 70. I have not had any trouble out of the units at all. Sure the bolts came loose but lets look at what put it together at the local Pep boys. I simplely took it home and loc-tited all the bolts and used lined nuts and problem solved. I have not had any problems with parts or advice. Like I have read in other messages it is not a Honda so don't look for Honda results, but for a child wanting to have some fun it is a great way to start out. And as far a Honda I owe a Rancher and it sat at the locate Honda dealer for a 3 weeks got it home it ran for one day and went down again due to carb failure. $75.00 down the drain and I fixed it myself. If you are in the La area and need service call (225-139-1779) |
| 5. Written by Kevin Schutt, on 15-12-2009 18:59 I bought 3 Baja's (50, 70, 70) in 2006 and I could not be HAPPIER! They have been just about flawless. NO MAJOR ISSUES. Keep in mind what you are buying, they are not Honda's nor is the fit and finish. The motorcycle overall is a great buy! |

| 7. Written by bajawhat, on 06-11-2009 07:55 Rewright sorry I have had several baja's what a joke but you get what you pay for. But I would only buy the on clearence from pep boys or TSC. I just bought a baja 150 carbide forward/reverse go-kart $2300 got it for $800 because of no start turned out to be ignition switch. two weeks later everything's great but its getting harder to shift between forward/neutral/rev. and now it wont come out of forward, it seems like and adjustment and something simple. I am a mechanic by trade and know these things pretty good but I cant get any info from baja to troubleshoot it. I am not asking them for anything but advice and they wont help me. ANYBODY suggestions PLEASE! |

| 10. Written by Ethan Tudor W., on 27-10-2009 01:05 We have the BE-500 Electric Scooter from Baja Motorsports, and have had a blast with it. Over 250 miles on it now. We DID have a problem with a melted battery but Baja has been very good about getting another one out to me. The one that they recently sent out was damaged with gel/acid leaking out. But with one phone call, they said they would send another. ![]() |
