Exclamation Ikea refund policy for defective bedding is nonexistant

I would like to know if anyone has had a similar experience trying to return defective bedding to Ikea. Their policy claims they can not accept "used" bedding, however, who doesn't wash items bought at stores first before using them or putting them next to your skin? I washed and dried the bedspread per the tag recommendations and yet the polyester fiber filling melted inside and it came out ruined.

Has anyone else experienced this? One lady at the counter told me she had a similar experience with another blanket so I know at least one person is on my side.

PS - I drafted a letter today and mailed it to the Ikea corporate office as suggested by Consumer Bob in San Diego and I am waiting on a response.
