Angry Progressive Insurance Company

I was ripped of by Progressive Insurance. I was in an accident that was in no way my fault or the fault of my driver. Progressive made no effort whatsoever to prove my side. The driver of the other auto crossed traffic and hit us head on then claimed we had no headlights on even though they were clearly on and the tow truck people couldn't get them to turn off to haul my car.
Eventually I was told they called the accident 50/50 after paying off the people in the other car. I live in Ky. and the accident was in Florida. I had to get a way home then make a trip back to Florida to get the car. They never once offered to help me get a car or anything. I didn't have a rental car provision on my insurance but they could have at least said "here are some numbers locally for rentals" or something.
I feel they should have given me back at least half of my deductible. The deductible was $500. They said they were'nt going to ask for my money because the party that hit us had an adverse reaction to us. I don't care if they liked us or not because it was mutual. They ruined my car. It will never be worth as much after being wrecked. In any case, Progressive owes me $250 plus interest for waiting nearly a year and a half.
I canceled Progressive because of the way they treated me. I've since found out about others that were done the same way. One person stopped to help someone who wrecked a motorcycle. They guy claimed he ran him out of the road so he could collect insurance so Progressive paid him off.
I'd like to hear from readers who agree with me that Progressive owes me at least half my deductible.

Default Sorry that happened to you

Progressive would owe you half of your deductible if they recovered anything (even if it was a 'credit' against what they paid). Don't know why they would not bother to recover if they paid 50%, seems like the other company should also have paid 50%. Did the other people have insurance? You do have a right to file a small claims suit to recover all/part of your deductible. Unfortunately, that might cost more in time and aggravation than it's worth since the accident didn't happen close to where you live...

I have had issues with them in the past. Progressive is kind of shady when it comes to out of state claims too.
