Delta Airlines has THE WORST customer service policy in any industry I have ever encountered. NEVER USE DELTA. I am a small business owner, if I treated my customers as badly as Delta treats theirs, I'd be out of business pretty fast.
NEVER USE DELTA I purchased an online ticket for a flight 6 weeks in advance and 2 weeks later, my plans unexpectedly changed. I needed to cancel, a full month before the trip. Plenty of time to re-sell the ticket.
I used to like to fly Delta. The hotel reservation was cancelled without incident. I paid a $25.00 cancelation fee.
That wasn't a problem at all and I didn't mind to pay the fee. It was reasonable. Delta wanted to charge a $200.00!
cancellation fee. That's more than the original ticket! They seriously wanted me to pay MORE in order to NOT use the ticket ??
After much arguing with the Delta operator, I requested to speak with a supervisor, hoping to find someone with some common sense. My request was ignored and I was told I had no choice. They then agreeed to charge me only a $100.00 cancellation fee (and the rest of the balance of the ticket would be ""credited"" and I could use it within a year.
They claimed the ticket I purchased was ""non-refundable"" That's not good enough. That's wrong. I want my money back, plain and simple, just give me my money back!
I am willing to pay a reasonable cancelation fee, but I want the rest of my money back, not some obscure credit. I will never use Delta Airlines again. Delta Airlines is a company that steals from consumers.
It is thievery disguised as policy. Plain and simple. I am writing to every single person I know and every advocates agency I know, to let the public know about Delta Airlines UNFAIR policy.
So called ""Non-refundable"" tickets are just plain wrong. Why should we as consumers be penalized when we aren't going to use the service. Plans change, people change and things happen that are out of our control.
Whay can't Delta be a little flexable here. The hotel was no problem now I will use that hotel in the future. I will tell my friends and they will tell thier freinds, and so on.
Delta will re-sell that ticket AND keep my money. It's just plain WRONG! It's criminal and they are getting away with it.
NEVER USE DELTA This is Delta's customer service policy! This is how they treat their customers. I will never use Delta Airlines again and I hope that others never have to go through the same frustation and anger when trying to get a simple refund for something they aren't going to use.
From the information I've read and the people I've already spoken to, Delta already has a BAD REPUTATION concerning their customer service policies. It's no wonder they have to hang on for dear life to every dollar they get. _----------------------------------- To the one person who (probably works for Delta) responded 6 times, you're totally wrong.
You also show your intellegence by resorting to personal insults. One the many reasons why Delta is going into bankruptcy: They aren't customer friendly. That's the bottom line.
Word of mouth is very powerfull.
