Hyundai Motor America complaint by Sfreiman
My 2004 Hyundai Sante Fe with approximately 71,000+ miles on it died on Friday. The three year old transmission went bad. The manual says to tow the car to the nearest dealer when the Check Engine light goes on--so that is what I did using Hyundai Roadside Assistance. The dealer told me that they couldn't fix the car until Hyundai okayed the warranty claim, which couldn't happen til Monday. They said all three of their loaner cars were out so I'd have to rent a car and pay for it. I said Hyundai should pay for it because (1) it's a warranty claim and (2) the Hyundai Assistance associate told me that warranty claims meant that I'd get a replacement car to use. You can guess what happened next--Hyundai is refusing to pay for my rental car even tho they haven't fixed the warrantied repair yet and it's 2 p.m. on Monday.

When I called Customer Assistance at Hyundai, they would not even give me the name of someone to speak to about this problem. What a terrible attitude for a "customer focused" company.
