I had a contract with Just Total Fitness signed on 3/31/03. Agreeing to my knowledge with the company that they were going to take a monthly fee of $25.10 out of my checking account. At that time Tony-manager of Just Total Fitness had taken my debit card stating that he would process the transaction. Assuming he was setting up the electronic transaction as he had explained, and assuming my contract was filled out correctly, now later learning that it had not been, on the contract it states need a voided check to take out fee. I was never asked by Tony for a voided check. As a customer assuming that he knew what he was doing, put all faith in him when I signed the contract. Had I not known the contract was not filled out correctly, I would have not signed it.
I had since then applied for an apartment which discovered that this was on my credit report. I called Affiliated Acceptance Corporation and spoke to a rep named Joann in collections, she was very short with me and rude when trying to resolve this issue.
I then asked for her supervisor, which also he was very short and rude. I then called back and asked to speak to the owner of the company and was turned over to Eli Mendoza, who was rude, hateful. I tried to come to an agreement with the company to pay half of what I had owed and did not say a word, could hear people in background talking, kept saying hello, he would not answer. I then was finally frustrated. Called back and asked for the owner or presidents name which is Allen Downey, not Eil Mendoza as he had stated.
I was trying to be cooperative about what was owed on my account, tried to get cooperation of the supervisors and supposedly the owner of the company under name Eli Mendoza. They were not willing to settle up anything. Which I only used the company for 2 months. I am just trying to settle amount owed, and received no kind of agreement.

It's unfortunate that you got a few hateful people but it appears that the error and real problem was either, Tony at Just Total Fitness for filling out the contract improperly or it was yours for signing something you didn't fully understand. I'm sure they would have worked with you if you had offered to pay the total amount you owed via the stipulations in your contract. You probibly could have made a payment plan or something instead of having this issue on your credit for the next 7 years!
FYI owners rarely get involved with such issues at billing companies...
