Leafguard complaint
Before I had this gutter system installed we never had water comming into the house. Their motto is: Get it and Forget it. Also, No leaves. No ladder. No Equal.

I had this No-Clog gutter system for my house on 8/28/02. I was lied to by their sales rep named Ed Peelman who told me that this system would be able to handle all of the water comming off my step roofs. These no clog gutters did not handle all of the water comming off the roof. Most of the water would pour off the roof over my front entrance to my house when it would rain. I could not enter or exit from my front door. This was after they had put in a couple of rain diverters to alleviate the problem.

The other problem I had was water comming into the bonus room. This caused damage to the drywall and the carpeting in that room. After 3 service calls they finally stoped the water from comming in. The third was 10/21/02 after the general manager Craig came out to inspect for the damage done to my bonus room. The first installers did not flash the gutter properly or caulk joint at the roof and wall. The gutter tilt was also set so it would hold water instead of being tilted so the water would go down the downspout. It took them one month before they could stop the water from getting into this room.

Craig is the general manager who comes out to access water damage. His primary function is to determine whether the damage was caused by improper installations of the Leafguard system or by something else. Craig came out to my house to inspect the water damage his Leafguard system caused he started to minimize the amount of damage that was done. He only wanted to pay 100.00 dollars for the damage. We finally settled on 200.00 dollars to be deducted from the balance due. They were paid in full even while the water continued to pour into the house.

Of course after constantly requesting service for these problems we became the problem family who just could not be satisfied in the eyes of this company. At one point it was suggested that our 3 year old roof might be the problem. Their office girl Ann was constantly rude and abrupt to me when I stated to complain about their lack of concern in fixing the problems.

To fix the original problem of the water pouring off the front of my roof they had to uninstall the Leafguard gutter and install a conventional gutter in place of it. This conventional gutter they don't advertise but use when their systems capacity is inadequate for handling roof water run-off.

In April 2003 I had to call them out again to stop water comming in over my front door near the sofit. Of course their is water damage. It was the same problem again with the flashing and caulking not being installed. It appears the leak has been stop. We have made several calls to Leafguard to Craig for him to come out and access the damage to no avail. It is now near the end of May 2003 and I have spoken to Ann on several different occasions and left messages for Craig again to no avail. No return phone calls or anything. Of course Ann is as abrupt and rude as ever toward us. This Leafguard gutter has a ten year warranty.

I am amazed that this company doesn't give a *** because this company continues to receive top marks from HomeReports a consumer magazine circulated here in Metro Atlanta. I guess if you piss them off especially the office girl Ann she voids your warranty.

Yeah Leaf Gaurd ***. Its a terrible gutter. Im suprised thier still in business. I got 3 estimates before I put gutters on my house. I had Leaf Gaurd out and I must say they had a pretty slick salesman, but the gutter is ugly and the price was high and it had a flat hood and no drip edge. I passed. Next I had Gutter Helmut come by and after he talked about puting nails in my roof I showed him the door. Then Gutter Shutter came over. WOW. These gutters are awesome. They work great, look good, I paid a little more than Leaf Gaurd but it was worth it. They do exactly what I wanted them too.
