i used to be on a mag crew as they call them....the whole point of the crew was to do exactly what these complaints said and that is to steal the money from polite helpful people that didnt need to be messed over...i realized how bad things really were when these kids in my crew were gettin beaten and left at bus stops with no money...i had to lie to get them to send me home saying that someone had died in my family just to go home...i never wanted to hurt or steal from anyone and as soon as i got the picture that these mag crews are rip offs i got out of there...this is not a good oppurtunity for kids and above all its a horrible condition to subject kids too...if anyone can help do something about it then dont buy magizines...they wont ever come to u and there will be no getting money back to u...meagan taylor

2. Written by Mag Crew Memoirs, on 30-12-2009 04:11 This is a book based on my life story I was a troubled teen that just needed help. I thought that it was my only chance. The truth is it was a 17 year lie filled with violence , verbal abuse , lies , drug use , alochol abuse and alot of sex. I can not take the pain that I helped cause but I Did make a discussion the follow and honor god. That in itself is the only thing that saved me. I hope one person gets something from my book or this. Alot of managers are brainwashed into beleiveing they are successful really all the money that comes in is from a lie and sooner than later it will be gone. Honest money is good money you feel better about your work. An you make wiser choices with it. Me most of my money went to hookers , drugs , stripes and materialistic things cars , clothes and jewelry. I am 37 now and have nothing to show for but a large debt to the IRS. www.myspace.com/magkingpin

Written by Cliff...Crew 074 and 076, on 01-12-2009 18:26 i was on crew 074 and 076, i want to say that mag crew are nothing but a scam. if you get a magazine or catrinas angels the trups over seas, a friend or yourself they and you will not get magazines. i was ditched after i was told i could go back to the hotel to grab my stuf when they led me off crew. i recall having a crew leader who was late or taking me and other crew members of because she was too bussy poppping pills, this happend several times. also acording to this job or whatever you want to call it, you sell (scam) magazines to people throughout the day, go back to the hotel (mainly travel lodge) and checking your orders, (when checking in the orders they throw away the checks, afterwords, you smoke pot and drink...then it repeats for the rest of the time you are on crew, a few days off here and there. what kind of job let's you smoke pot and drink? this job, or scam is also commision based. it is a waste of time, so don't do it or you'll be left where you know no one except for the people you scammed so good luck finding a place to stay because you won't want to return to a house you scamed, then they know something is fishy. by the way if anyone stops by trying to sell you magazines and are from the ACI or NCA contest tell them that i stoped by so they will leave your door step.so in return did i get my bonus points and a trip over seas for telling you the truth? so if you have any questions or conserns email me at , or |

7. Written by James, on 23-09-2008 15:36 Apartment girl, you have to understand that there are bad apples in every bunch, even in reputable companies. The kids are independant contractors, which means they collect the money on behalf of the company they contract with. Unfortunately, some people are less than honest, and choose to pocket the money rather than turn it in, and throw the order slip away. If the company doesn't get the order, it can't send the magazines. A good way to tell if you are being scammed is if they tell you they're doing it for school - it's a nonscholastic program, and anyone who tells you different is lying to you. And if you want to judge a company's reputation, these sorts of websites aren't really the place to go - it's a basic rule of marketing that someone who has a good experience will tell one person, someone who has a bad experience will tell five. Or something like that. If you want an accurate measure of a company, look at their mailing address on the receipt and check with the Better Business Bureau in that area. The complaints don't matter so much as how they're dealt with, and the BBB logs both.
8. Written by apartment girl, on 20-09-2008 20:10 I just had a college student try to sell me magazines and I had already given him the cash which I went to the atm to get. Luckiy I went upstairs to get my sisters address and ran into a friend that said she was scammed a year earlier. i got my cash back and tried to look online for the atlantic circulation before committing and found this information. I found out my sister got scammed two years ago by the same company and never got her magazines. Don't talk to a Darcy that lives in Evansville, IN. He is full of crap and I can't believe that anyone would do this job and take innocent people's money trying to help them out.
9. Written by Stacey, on 18-08-2008 18:38 I bought a subscription from this kid, i got magazines alright, but i got vibe, i wanted diabetic cooking... i dont really care about the money but i wanted my correct mag lol anywho the kid lied to me, I told him i had no money... i didnt even have enough money for groceries... and i didnt, but i bought it anyway with a check.... so at least i didnt pay cash to get totally ripped....sad part about it is... the very next week i got fired from my job for going to a funeral..... now all i want to do is get my correct subscription but cannot get a hold of anyone in order to change it
10. Written by James, on 24-07-2008 15:34 Regretful, it's obvious that you don't really know how things work on crew, probably because you didn't stay around for long. The cash that pays out the draws is deducted from the manager's cut of the check sales. So either way the money for the magazine subscription itself is there.
