Great Atlantic Warranty complaint by Badger

When I took my car in to the dealer to get it fixed supposedly under my Ultimate Extended Care warranty the dealer called me later and said they couldn't get in touch with Great Atlantic Warranty. Said they probably went out of business. I called them and after talking to several people was told I would have to pay for the repairs myself and get reimbursed. The amount was going to be over $700! BEWARE!!!!!!!!! Obviously this compnay is in financial trouble. What a ripoff! I had paid in full for the warranty! Used once!

That is not how you would handle your claim. When you take your car to the ASE Certified repair facility of your choice, you will find the phone number for the insurance company’s toll-free phone number for claims is found either on a card that the carrier sent along with all of the other info about your policy, or on the contract itself.

Your mechanic would call the 800 number provided. They would give the repair facility an approval and authorization code, which allows the mechanic to then begin work. Once the work is finished, the mechanic will fax a final repair order to the insurance company. At that time, the mechanic is paid with a corporate credit card over the phone. You arrive and pay your $100 deductible (deductible amount based on the warranty you have chosen).
