Chevrolet complaint
A salesman by the name of Sam Taylor contacted me telling me that that Gateway had obtained my credit report and that based on it, I was approved for a car loan large enough to pick any vehicle that I wanted. I told Mr. Taylor that I never gave them permission to pull my credit report. I was in the market for buying a car so I told him I would think about it and let them know.

When I attempted to reach Sam Taylor the next day, I was told that he was off but was directed to another salesman named Victor Nagode.

I expressed concern about multiple queries on my credit report on several occasions, but Victor assured me that they would forward my credit report to their lenders, thereby avoiding additional queries. After spending two hours in traffic traveling to their dealership, I completed an application.

Twenty minutes later Victor returned with his sales manager Sam Hampton. Sam said my credit score was just 3 points away from the required minimum, then he asked if I had a co-signer. I told him no and said I was no longer interested.

A day later I received an email alert from Equifax that someone had requested my credit report. After reviewing my report from all 3 credit bureaus, I noticed queries from Gateway Chevrolet as well as 3 of their lenders on my report.

After speaking with their sales manager Sam Hampton about their decptive practices, he agreed to remove the inquiries from my credit report.

2 weeks later and several calls to them, and nothing has been done. Not only am I filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureaus, but I also plan to ask the Illinois Attorney General to look into their illegal and deceptive practices.
