CompUSA complaint by Jdecarlo
On 10-12-2007 I came home to find a FED-Ex tag on my door for an X-box I ordered for my son. The tag indicated that a "direct signature" was needed for delivery of this item to occur. Unfortunately, I work during the day and am not able to be home to receive packages. I promptly contacted FedEx who informed me that CompUSA could change the signature requirement or re-route the package.

I called CompUSA and asked that the "direct signature" option be removed so that I could sign the tag and leave it for FedEx (At which time I would assume liability for the package - I liva in a low-crime suburb) or the package be rerouted to my place of work. I was told by the CompUsa representative that his supervisor informed him that neither of these options was possible.

When I asked to speak to the supervisor, the representative told me that "the person he asked wasn't actually a supervisor." Thinking this strange, I asked to speak to a real supervisor. I was directed to voice mail and was never called back.

I paid for my merchandise in a timely fashion and would now like to have it. Instead I was told that there was no flexibility on the issue. Certainly, if the company had indicated that this was their policy I would not have ordered the merchandise from them. What has happened is tantamount to being tricked into giving them an interest free $370 loan.

On top of being treated deceptively and discourteously, my kids are severely disappointed that their game is being held hostage. Is there a reason to treat customers like this? I won't be doing business with this firm again and will surely tell everyone I know about their poor customer service.
