Are Wordsmart and Smart Tech the same company? I think they are the same company. They called me and told me my son had asked for their program, when I asked my son he knew nothing about it. I looked into the BBB and saw that there were many complaints about the company. I called to cancel my order to be told by a person that they were closed and could only take messages, I had to call back... Read more

I received an advertisement for ACT/SAT prep test software and made the mistake of following up. This company managed to use misleading doublespeak to trick me into purchasing an additional subscription-based product - Wordsmart, using the credit card information I submitted for the ACT/SAT product. The ACT/SAT product was actually fairly weak itself, and failed to deliver the suggested results,... Read more

WordSmart - They Scam Because They Can

They cold-call, they promise satisfaction or give $200 back. WRONG, then they want you to give the the "Code" from trying the CD - a DELAY TACTIC so they don't have to refund. They they send you the next CD - for $64. They charge your card before they even ship the CD. If you make the mistake of ordering, cancel immediately, don't fall for the "We need the code". Send the disks only, use a PO... Read more

Wordsmart is a scam. As noted by others, the very smooth rep called saying my daughter requested this program. She tried it, wanting very much to like it, but found it not up to her level> She is a very motivated student who already is a high scorer, and this was explained to the rep. The rep said even someone like her would benefit from the program. At $160 it didn't seem like a huge... Read more

Wordsmart....... more like scamsmart. I can't believe they made new pay all that money and as soon as I got them CD's they were all scratched up, and wouldn't even play right. I called the company and they me (on a machine) no refunds. Can you believe that, NO REFUNDS!!!!! But my daughter is in college, and she really wanted to try it. So I get her an account on the internet, and they give her... Read more

A representative called and said my son had expressed interest in Wordsmart software to prepare for his ACT/SAT. They actually had his name, grade, address, etc., so I listened to what the salesman had to say. He actually called while my so was at school, so I had no way to confirm if he really had expressed interest. I was promised 30 days to assess the software. My son had no interest in... Read more

I was smooth talked into purchasing this package by one "Samson Novelozo". Man, this guy is slicker than dog sh*t! Knew my name and my daughter's name and was a real schmoozer. Since the inception of the no call list, I don't get many calls like this; most o them are robo calls I just hang up on. Regardless, after mentioning the 30 day trial period and telling my how smart my daughter was, I... Read more

I was told my son needed this program to do well on the ACT test. When I told the caller that we had it covered he asks in what way. WITHOUT going into detail I said my son will just be himself! I did not think it was any of his business. The caller said, "good luck"(sarcastically) and hung up! I could not believe how rude he was and knew then tha t it had to be a scam. Did not know they... I have had a FULL fledged experience with WordSmart and this review is to tell you the details in case you have gotten into bed with this Devil! When they place the initial sales call to you they tell you that your child wants this program. All you really hear, if you are not listening carefully, is that your child requested the program, it will raise their test scores, and there is a 30 day... Read more
