Back in october there was one scheduled to open near my home so I signed up for no fees. An employee told me its 20$ per month and that I could stop it whenever so i figured if its better than my current gym ill continue coming here...well thats not completely true. I cant cancel it because that was a lie. You can only get out if your injured for more than 6 months or cancel within 3 days of the... Read more

Today I went to Retro Fitness to cancel my membership one day after my 1-year membership expired. I already called and was told it would actually take 60 days after they received my letter (no emails allowed). I reviewed my contract, this was clearly stated. (My fault for not cancelling 60 days before my contract was to expire.) However, my in person cancellation, with letter, was denied... Read more

Remember how AOL wouldn't let you cancel your service? Once they had your CC number they would keep charging you every month no matter how many times you told them to cancel. Retro is a little like that. You go to the gym to cancel and are told you have to call some office where you will be on hold for quite a while. When you do get a person and tell them you want to cancel your membership they... Read more

Entered Retro Fitness to sign up for a memebership. Meathead guy in no uniform and flexing his muscles claimed to be the manager. In asking about the membership, I was told $54 to sign up and 19.99 a month and a contract had to be signed. He not only did not show me the facilities or ask me about my goals or offer me options but, he was rude and too worried about flexing his muscles. He told... Read more

Previously Kareem a staff member with no shoes and out of uniform signed me up for the gym all the while flirting with me excessively...had he not told me he was staff I would have just thought him to be an everyday "gym creep". I recently canceled my membership from planet fitness to get away from the meatheads and gawkers and did not expect to go through this from staff. Now this young man... Read more

I referred my friend to retro fitness because she was looking for a cheap, basic gym. Plus, I would get a free month. I'm in the process of canceling my membership and joining a new gym because Retro is SO CROWDED and the layout is terrible...just a mass of meatheads in the middle taking up all the equipment. Anyway - I realized that even though I referred in April, I was never given a free... Read more

On 11/13/2013 I was trained by Kyle at the Brick NJ location as part of the "FREE" fitness evaluation. At that time I agreed to sign up for weekly training. 2 days later I was contacted by a trainer at the facility who informed me he did not work on Saturdays. The following day Kyle said he would have someone that did work on weekends call me. On November 16th I received a text message from... Read more

When I joined Retro I was told it was a one year commitment and was fine with that. 4 mths into membership I hurt my shoulder and bring in doctors note stating I can not workout anymore. I spoke with the front desk staff who then had to speak with the manager who seemed to find every reason to stay somewhere that I no longer can use and just place on hold at $5.00 per mth. After telling him no... Read more
