I tried to short sale my home because my husband worked out of state and the only way for him to get back was to get rid of our highest debt. We got an offer within two weeks. Provident Funding's investor, Freddie Mac, turned it down because I was current on my payments even though I told them that if one of us missed any work we wouldn't be able to keep up and that is why we were trying to... I just closed my loan 08/05 on a purchase and I can't think of any easier process in my life. In addition to the smooth process, I also secured an interest rate .75% better than any other lender could quote me. I will save and estimated $3000 this year alone. I anticipate substantial savings over the life of the loan but would be difficult to tally without a comparitive amortization schedule... Read more

Insurance increase resulted in a $5.00 increase in Mo payment for Mortgage. No notice from Provident re: increase. Submitted payment- on time as always- at 1st of month. 10 days later the entire amount was rejected..and they allowed only one day to resubmit the new entire amount- or suffer late fees and a penalty on the entire principle and interest which was easily covered in the original... My loan was sold to them. I did not choose them but, no one should ever choose them. While friendly they would not reverse $32.50 in fees for a simple mistake of transposing two numbers. Because you "have" to sign up for their automatic payment or be forced to pay $7.50 every single month. Not much else to say but for some reason you need to put in extra words well OK. Never been so mad at a... Read more

There needs to be a State/Federal review of the unfair dealings of Provident, they had block the opportunity for me and I am sure 100s of other people from refinancing, we have try several lenders they all said Provident did something to our loan (without our approval) that forces us to stay with them. We cannot use the HARP program with the value of the house $100,000 under water and existing... Read more

They collect Escrow all year and when it comes time to pay Homeowners Insurance they lose payment information! Second year same scam. Insurance cancelled last year for a month even when said information was provided by fax and phone. They are an Evil Company! They lie and steal! They have also lost on time payments by check to attempt to Foreclose on properties without notifications that are sent... Read more

My mortgage was sold to Provident Funding back in 2005. Now, I want to take advantage of the HARP program since I am underwater on my loan but in good standing. Provident says there is a code "64" on my loan which locks me into refinancing ONLY with them. They offer a competitive rate but want 3.4 points, over $7.000. The other broker I was working with had locked in a good rate with less... Read more

I applied for Home Refinance loan from this company via ehomeloanadvisors. I have very good credit rating and I supplied them all the papers that was needed very promptly. They said they locked my rate. To my utter surprise, they ehomeloanadvisors contacted me and said the rate lock period is over as Provident Funding could not finish their work in time. As per them, the rate is more now and I... Read more

Unfortunately, I would NEVER recommend Provident to ANYONE I know – EVER. It is unfortunate that you have people like Kyle Carlson working for your company. I have never been more disappointed, dissatisfied, frustrated, confused, angry or bewildered with the interaction with some one that is supposed to “help” me save money, provide information on the process and ensure that I am protected from... This company will find any excuse not to credit payments to your mortgage so they can generate late fees. They intentionally manipulate the escrow amounts, post payments to your principal rather than the loan payments and stack up late fees. They also instruct the customer service folks to give different responses and to claim nothing needs to be done so the customer doesn't take action. This... Read more
