For sale: One very slightly used snow blower (less than 10 hours use). Works well on warm days if it hasn’t snowed or rained recently. The blower was purchased on December 24th, 2011 and the 3-year limited warranty will run out December 23rd, 2014. Of course, only the original owner is covered, so we should think of a plan to not transfer ownership until then. Rona, where the machine was... Read more

I am a 60 year old widow. I purchased a NEW single-stage snow thrower (model 2T5). After using the machine four (4) times the cable broke. I was unable to use, it was useless. Took machine back where I purchased it, now it is almost two (2) months old, and they had to ordered a new cable. I had to shovel snow by hand waiting for the part to be delivered. Then they called to say my snow thrower... Read more

Purchased snow blower model 31A 2M1A700 during the winter of 2011-12 and thought that I was happy to get it to save me a lot of work, WRONG!!! It worked for the rest of that winter, and since then, you have a very hard time starting it. you can not pull the rope, as if something is catching, and if you do get it started then you have to have the choke have way or it stops running. Also it... Read more

I had a similar issue. I have been working on small engines for 35 years since I was 12. My new MTD PRO snow thrower worked fine for half of the season. Then it wouldn't even clear 4" of light snow without dying out. I called MTD and they treated me like a punk. They were annoyed. They referred to me to their local service center which has the worst reputation there is. They would then make a... Read more

After about 3 snows it started running poorly. Took it to the MTD authorized service center and they diagnosed a bad carburetor. Parts were supposedly ordered but I never got to use it again that year as the parts never came in until June. Leaked oil when got it home and still ran poorly so I took it back and they decided that it need a new engine. Months later I got it back again and the engine... Read more

Unit worked but bent impellor, replaced with new impellor.Probably half a dozen belts over the years, I consider normal, considering I've used this machine in three foot snows, and when we couldnt get the diesel plow... The second winter, the plastic gear stopped turning the chute. I bolted a strap steel lever to turn the chute by hand. It is cumbersome, but it works better than the plastic assembly did. The third winter, the snowblower began continuing to move in reverse after I would release the engage lever on the handle. It still does this. I've learned not to stand directly behind it. Somewhere in... Read more

This is a follow-up: After again writing the C.E.O. Louis J. D'Ambrosio of 'sears' I received the same sorry, pathetic non-response to the PYT9000 Lawn Tractor' sicknesses. Which I know by verbatim! " we're sorry that you are having a problem(s) thank you and we hope that you continue to shop at 'sears' " That does not a thing to rectify my sordid situation with... Read more
