I have a system that goes off whenever it feels like. When we are work or in the middle of night. There is no one opening any door or window and it just goes off. i switch alarm company in may 2013 sent canceling form letter as instructed one from me and two from my new alarm company. the third one was delivered and signed for on june 10 2013.they still refuse to cancel,they sending notices to turn this in on my credit.i called them again on september 19 and they said they have no record of letter for cancellation so Im sending a fourth letter today... I have been a Monitronics home monitoring customer for three years. I requested in writing to have my home monitoring service canceled at the end of September 2013. called MoniTronics on a Saturday late July. After spending approximately an hour on the phone troubleshooting with them how to change the security code, which is a simple matter, they told me they had to send a technician out who would be there on Monday because there was something wrong with the keypad. I sent a letter to monitronics on July 31 2013 stating I wanted to cancel my account. They returned a letter stating I needed to call them which I did. I told them I had orders. This company is a joke. Unlike any other company they require a written signature for cancellation. Is that because the company preys on elders who are either sick on bed rest or have already passed away? It doesn't make sense that you would need someone's who had passed away signature in order to cancel the horrible service that they offer. There is more, the company doesn't even have legitimate... Our credit card was hacked. We contacted the company Platinum Protection to update our credit card info. Could not reach anyone. Finally, just had to close credit card. After a month we rec'd a bill from Platinum Protection which told us to call a 1-888-507-7683 number to "resolve" the issue. Payed to settle the contract, sent written cancellation certified, 8 months later, bank account was deducted for monthly charges and continue to get monthly bill. Block your bank accounts right away, they will wait months and then draft your account for monthly fees. They have a thousand reasons why they can do it, ridiculous is their best and most used one.
