We signed up with Devcon Security almost 3 years ago and just last year Devcon let go of their shares here in Washington and gave our contract with Monitronics. Monitronics never sent us any information that they were taking over or any information about their company. What I hate most is that when we called about the situation and asked to cancel the person told us that we had no choice in that... Read more

Monitronics gave me the run around for 7 months on canceling my account. I told them that I was going to the Attorney General today, for not providing a reasonable cancelation method and they offered to cancel over the phone, no faxing or mailing and settle for half the amount owing. Do not call the main customer service number, call the 855-299-2081, it goes straight to a human; ask for "account... Read more

It is now January 2014. I have been attempted to have them change my due date for my account for 5 months! After talking with at least 3 - 4 customer svc reps, they still cannot handle a simple request. I have worked several customer service jobs and things like this take ONE phone call. I have had several Insufficient Funds charges from my bank due to their incompetence. I finally put a Stop... Read more

First, they came to the door posing to be another alarm company, so we were switched over. Then, they did not bother to tell us it did not work with our Comcast service. So we were paying for a service that did not work. I paid for service for many months, meanwhile calling to cancel. They then told me, several months later, that per contract, they could not cancel without written... Read more

Monitronics web page specially lists a 24 Hour Response Center. I called their number all day Sunday, December 15, 2013 -- at least 10 times -- because my alarm was emitting a high ringing tone all night and all day, into Monday, December 16th. The customer service number kept routing me back to the message that said their offices were closed. When I called Monitronics Monday morning, the tech... Read more

Got a call while out of town. monitronics would not send police said i didn't have alarm permit when i did have one. $500 fine because I had to call police because I was hundreds of mile away. No help from them what-so-ever. Then needed a technician. Took over 2 weeks because they do not routinely have support on Saturdays. What are working people suppose to do. Last night alarm beeping all night... Read more

I (stupidly) signed a 3 year contract with a company that was sold, and sold again, and ultimately purchased by Monitronics. We are moving out of state, renting a house that has a supplied ADT system so I have no need for another alarm in this house. Sure, I signed a contract however, every other provider (internet, tv, electric - we were in TX) has allowed us an early termination because we... Read more

Beverly DeVoe We have been with your company for 11 years and have never had a alarm go off, until our door got stuck. That's when we realized I couldn't hear the alarm back in my bed room. You would not upgrade or replace our out dated system with out paying a outrages amount. Well with a number of complaints this is how you solved the problem. You put a ugly alarm box in the middle of our... Read more

Monitronics can be held liable for the break-in in your home or business. The case, Monitronics v. Veasley, involves an $8.4 million verdict against Monitronics stemming from the home invasion and rape of Velma Veasley. On the day of the invasion, Veasley’s alarm system, which had been taken over by Monitronics, triggered at least five times. In response, Monitronics’ representative called... Read more
