I work from home and have had MediaCom for many years but in recent years the service has been intermittent and unreliable. When I call to report the outage, I get everything from "we can't help you", "you are set up incorrectly", to "it's your VPN/Router/Firewall. They never HEAR my comment that I have had the same set up for over 10 years.....it's always easier to find the reason that points... Read more

The contractor installer came to hookup my neighbor. He decides to cut all my paid for connections. Drives away. I turn on Tv no cable. I call MC to get overseas call center . They tell me it will be 11 days before they come out. No local number no local office! I sit and wait. MC offered me 2 day credit on a 11 day outage they caused. I was moving to Des Moines so I called Mediacom sales and asked about user owned equipment since I had a cable modem, Tivo and cablecard. I was told that this was okay and that they could install over the phone. After I got moved in I called to activate. The rep told me that I couldn't have my own Tivo and a service call would be required for activation. He couldn't tell me when an appointment... Read more

I am so sick and tired of them telling me that my bill will be $139.45 for a year and it isn't. This is the third time since November I've had to contact them about Mediacom over charging me. I called Mediacom on march 4 agreed to let them hook up service at my house and paid for the installation and first month. They tell me that the first opening is on the 14. I immediately told him that was too long to go with out TV that my wife would go crazy waiting that long but he convinced me that he would stay on top of it and try to get me an earlier installation. I have been with media com for over 8 years! I have cable and internet with them and what do they do?? Raise my rates! So I Try to go through the retention department to get my rates lowered back to their original rates and media com did lower my rates back to the rates i had previously but two days later, they take away some of my digital channels! I consistently get kicked off the internet. I am a student living in Carbondale. When I try getting on the school's website to study it kicks me off. I have a wireless router that costs 70$ so I know it isn't that. The internet kept cutting out literally three minutes ago. Mediacom SUCKS !!!!!!!!!! They are a monopoly. They are GREEDY !!!! They have lousy TV service, lousy phone service and the internet service is just as crappy. The internet cuts out every time the wind blows or it rains. If you call the a-holes you get no where. We don't show any outages.......... if its inside there will be an extra charge........ Since September I've been paying for this service. I've have called in to ask for help with this issue at an average of maybe 3 times per month. The last tech that came to my house on the 15th of January told me, "ms. There is no need for you to keep calling us. I was a loyal customer for 5 years of Mediacom (cable and internet -paying over $100 for basic cable) when I noticed my bill was increased by $42 in one month. No notice in my bills or by email or anything, and late charges since I was on autopay each month. So I called to cancel and they offered me to try a lower rate for 90 days. So decided to wait.
