Since 2010, we have had 4 defective LKQ remanufactured engines ordered and installed by our local Toyota dealership and now, we need another engine (5th) for the same defects - leaking oil, cracked engine block. I had an LKQ rebuilt transmission installed in a 2004 Freestar, at a Canadian Ford Dealer in Ottawa On. in August of 2013. I was assured at the time there was a North America wide warranty with unlimited mileage. Some 12,000 km, (about 6500 miles) later while wintering in Fl. Purchased a rebuilt motor, it did not run. Returned it for replacement. Oh after paying for it to be installed. Received another one and this one had a head that was cracked, they tell me the warranty is only good on the first motor and that the replacement one is not covered. WE AT PATEL MOTORS HAVE BEEN A FAITHFUL CUSTOMER OF LKQ AND HAVE ALWAYS HAD GREAT RESPECT AND UNDERSTANDING. ON 8/6/13 PUT A TRANSMISSION IN A 2006 FORD F150 4X4 LASTED 1500 MILES. THEY BEGRUDGINGLY REPLACE THIS ONE. NOW WE HAVE PAID A MECHANIC TWICE NOW IN 600. MILES IT HAS WENT OUT AGAIN. I needed a transmission for a celica. I called lqk an spoke with the sales person who told me the part was 289 and bring on the old and the peices and I would get a 75 core charge back. So I order the part which I was told I would be ready for pick up in five days. Ok great, day five came so I called to make sure it was in. Of course the part was not in, but should be here Monday. I own an auto body shop. I have to use recycled parts for the insurance companies. I am tired of financing the *** parts that LKQ and Keystone ship us. They want me to pay for both *** parts that they send. I am sorry, but I have a high quality shop and I will no longer fund this mess. LKQ is the worst company to get your core money back. They try every angle not to reimburse. I own Universal Auto in Springfield Township. If they are charging a core make sure you have it ready and even if you have it ready be sure to check your invoice , cuz they will still try and charge you for one. Oh and the warranty's are a joke. I bought a part from these people with a 4 day estimated delivery date (on or before July 26) from Houston TX. I live in Lubbock, TX. Well past the estimated delivery, no part. I left an email. i waited 24 hours and if course no response. So I called and was told "next day air" and they would cover it.
