The customer had an unusual request which involved contractual changes which could leave the complainant and Life Alert liable for any damages. However, we have since been in contact with the complainant and have worked out a resolution that she was very happy with. The customer said she plans to remove or edit this complaint as it was resolved to her satisfaction. Read more

Life Alert 's reply to:

After speaking with complainant it seems that his main issue is that our sales offices always have to get a "Manager's Approval" about what he charges only to finally agreement to his price. He feels that getting authorization is demeaning and unprofessional for him to hear. We’re sorry he feels this way; however, it’s important that the sales offices verify financial payments first since that is our protocol. Read more

This customer has had Life Alert for 2 ½ years with no service problems. Three weeks ago, the landline, which is serviced by AT&T, suddenly stopped working. Telephone providers generally make updates to their services without notifying Life Alert or the customer. These updates can interfere with our life saving service, and it was AT&T’s responsibility to provide and install a splitter for the updates, which they did not. Life Alert sent the customer a splitter as a form of good customer service and a courtesy - not an admission of guilt.... Read more

Life Alert’s cutting edge, technology advanced, equipment is expensive and is on loan to our subscribers for the duration that they need our service, as stated in our service agreement. Once our service is cancelled, we pay to have our equipment shipped back to us, and it is strongly suggested that we receive our equipment as soon as possible so that we can cancel the account and notify the billing department. An account is not considered completely cancelled until we receive all of our equipment back. However, we understand that there may... Read more

Life Alert 's reply to:

Life Alert does not cold call or telemarket. Unfortunately, the calls you are receiving are from medical alert imposters using robo-calls nationwide while claiming to be Life Alert. The recordings sound like a real person claiming that either “someone has purchased a Life Alert system for you,” or that “You qualify for a free Life Alert.” Other calls may say they are calling from a shipping department to confirm a free order or to send upgraded Life Alert equipment. These calls are not made by Life Alert. These are telemarketing scammers... Read more

Unfortunately, the calls you are receiving is a nationwide scam from medical alert imposters using automated (robo) calls claiming to be Life Alert. Life Alert takes its role I saving lives very seriously. Unfortunately in the past, family members had cancelled this life saving service while their elderly loved ones still needed it; and it led to people not getting help in a timely manner. In order to protect our customers, Life Alert has a cancellation clause which states if youth patient needs to go into a health care facility that all the family need do is ship our equipment back to us and have that facility fax us a confirmation, and the patient will be released from the agreement...
