Lane Furniture - We purchased a Lane Home Theater seating system. The foam immediately began to collapse.
On September 5, 2012, we ordered a set of 4 Lane 222 End Zone Home Theater seats from HT Market. Our PO was 197724. The order was delivered in November. Within a few weeks, we noticed that the foam had collapsed on one of the chairs. We reported this to Lane and were told that, for the first year, the dealer we purchased our furniture from was responsible for the warranty. We immediately contacted Tom Conroy of HT Market (tom_conroy@***.net), phone # 888-764-****. While we waited for an answer from him, we switched the seats around so that the problem chair was not used as much. The second chair immeditely collapsed. We also noticed that a third seat was rapidly deteriorating.
After months of e-mails, a technician was finally sent to our home to inspect the problem. He declared that the problem was not mechanical, but that the foam had actually collapsed. He said the foam density was inadequate for the type of use and should be replaced with a denser foam. This was reported to Tom Conroy.
After many more months of empty โweโre working on itโ type non-responses, we were told that a Lane certified repair person had to perform the repairs. We gave the serial numbers for the seats to Tom so that he could arrange for the warranty work with Lane. All this time, we were constantly asking the question, โ Why arenโt we repairing all 4 seats? We are 2 people living here. Only 2 seats are used unless we have company. Why do we have to wait for the other seats to collapse?โ Late this summer, the Lane person finally came and replaced the foam on the 2 worst chairs. He told us not to worry about the third chair until it was worse because we had a 5 years warranty on the furniture.
Almost immediately, the new foam collapsed. We reported this to Tom and, once again got the โWeโre working on itโ non response. In the mean time, we noticed that mechanical parts were unattached to the chair parts they supported. We also reported this.
To this day, we have no concrete response from HT Market about how this situation will be corrected. Iโm seriously concerned that this furniture will completely fall apart long before the warranty is up, but, because we get no response, weโll be out of warranty and out of luck on getting a resolution to our problems. Can you possibly help us?
